None of the events now unfolding happened in a vacuum. They’re happening now and did not happen under the previous president.
The first domino of events that made the difference between Trump’s deterrence and Biden’s failure to deter can be traced right back the first week of this administration.
At the same time that Biden was busy constricting energy supply and making American energy consumption dependant on Putin’s oil production by reversing the steps that made us energy independent, he did something else as well.
He scrapped the sanctions on Nordstream 2. And any time that Republicans tried to have them restored, Senate Democrats (who have been heavily lobbied by Russians) and Biden’s White House have been pushing hard to block that effort.
Results were predictable to anyone but the Democrats. Until the situation called for a rethink.
Democrats have changed their minds, but now it’s a day late and a dollar short.
