The Wall Street Journal put out a new poll, (paywall) that shows a massive swing of minority voters that will absolutely crater the Dems’ usual strategy of relying on the demographics of urban strongholds to tilt the ground in their favor.

National Review brought attention to this nugget from the study:

The survey also found Republicans making gains among minority groups. By 9 percentage points, Hispanic voters in the new poll said they would back a Republican candidate for Congress over a Democrat. The two parties had been tied among Hispanic voters in the Journal’s survey in November.

Democratic margins also eroded among Black voters, who favored a Democrat for Congress by 35 percentage points in the new survey, down from 56 points in November. Support for a Republican candidate rose to 27% among Black voters, up from 12% in November. — NationalReview

Dems have been relying on the heavy support they have been getting from, for example, Black voters to tip the scales in their favor in districts that might otherwise be close.

But they can no longer count on those voting blocks as guaranteed votes. Change is in the air…

In the 2020 election, it is estimated that Donald Trump won around 12 percent of the Black vote. Among Black male voters, his percentage was higher, perhaps around 18 percent.

Both showings were significantly better for Trump than in 2016. And Trump’s 2016 showing was better than Republicans had been doing among Black voters. — Spectator

Is it because Trump did not write off black voters as a lost cause like so many other Republicans before him had? Is it because he directly appealed to their personal circumstances, or to use the vernacular, their ‘felt needs’?

He didn’t sugar-coat it. “You’re living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58% of your youth is unemployed – what the hell do you have to lose?”

Until the pandemic came to town, they had real improvements in urban unemployment for the first time since … who can even remember? America had full employment or close to it. Real, spendable wages, after taxes and inflation, were on the rise.

And now Biden is in office, and America is getting a real good look at what the other team offers. They just rammed another trillion-dollar spending deal that funds everything except what, our military?

We’re now at a point where somewhere between 40% and 80% of every dollar in circulation has been printed since the beginning of the pandemic … and Dems are blaming Putin for inflation?

The minority voters those Dems had been taking for granted are getting a reality check right in the wallets. They’re starting to see that the Dems aren’t delivering on any of their utopian promises. And they’re looking for alternatives.

And it doesn’t take a 50% swing in voters to make a difference in the polls — although among Hispanic voters, more than 50% is already leaning to the Right. All it takes is for that 90% voter block they once relied on to slip a dozen points or two and suddenly a lot of ‘safe’ seats are up for grabs… and we’re already well on our way there.

That’s going to set up a very interesting dynamic for midterm elections.

When Dems panic — and they surely will — be ready for them to double and triple down on all the same tropes about Republicans being bigots who want to destroy minority rights.

There’s a perfectly understandable reason for why they would do that — when your policies are hot garbage, the only card you have left to play is attacking the other guy.

Expect them to come out swinging… but keep turning the conversation back to the issues, and watch them lose their damn minds.

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.

Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.

This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
