Satan’s Temptation to Be Addicted To Pleasure Instead of Godly Duty

Show me someone who’s ‘living for the weekend’ and I’ll show you who hasn’t yet truly found something worth living for.

Sad to say, it’s not just the unbelievers caught in that trap. There are a lot of Christians plodding through life on exactly the same glide path.

We weren’t called to mindlessly mark time on a hamster wheel. Nor were we put on this planet to carry a heavy load on our back while sporting a frown so big we can trip on our lips in the name of ‘Christian duty’.

We were called to turn our face toward God and connect what He already put in us to a purpose that actually means something. When you connect those dots, you’re going to have every reason to get out of bed every morning.

Even if that means going into the same job tomorrow that you had yesterday, just shifting a big-picture understanding of why you are there can change everything.

Dial that in, and you won’t need to lose yourself in mindless escapism, because your life won’t be something you need an escape from.

We only live once, and then we will give an account of how we lived it.

Why waste it?

While you’re at it, here’s his latest book:

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.

Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.

This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
