Two polls released on Friday show that voters see President Biden’s administration as a sinking ship.

Both the AP-NORC poll and the Quinnipiac polls show that President Brandon’s Biden’s approval rating is in the mid-high 30s while his disapproval rating continues to climb over 50%.

The AP-NORC poll shows that Biden’s approval rating has sunk to 39% and 2/3 of Americans disapprove of his handling of the economy which is consistently the key issue for voters.

President Joe Biden’s approval rating dipped to the lowest point of his presidency in May, a new poll shows, with deepening pessimism emerging among members of his own Democratic Party.

Only 39% of U.S. adults approve of Biden’s performance as president, according to the poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research, dipping from already negative ratings a month earlier.

Overall, only about 2 in 10 adults say the U.S. is heading in the right direction or the economy is good, both down from about 3 in 10 a month earlier. Those drops were concentrated among Democrats, with just 33% within the president’s party saying the country is headed in the right direction, down from 49% in April…

…Overall, two-thirds of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy. That rating is largely unchanged over the last few months, though elevated slightly since the first two months of the year.

But there are signs that the dissatisfaction with Biden on the economy has deepened. Just 18% of Americans say Biden’s policies have done more to help than hurt the economy, down slightly from 24% in March. Fifty-one percent say they’ve done more to hurt than help, while 30% say they haven’t made much difference either way…

…The AP-NORC poll of 1,172 adults was conducted May 12-16 using a sample drawn from NORC’s probability-based AmeriSpeak Panel, which is designed to be representative of the U.S. population. The margin of sampling error for all respondents is plus or minus 4.0 percentage points.

The AP-NORC poll shows that there was a substantial drop in support by Democrats which is bad news just months away from the midterm election.

The article states, “his approval among Democrats stands at 73%, a substantial drop since earlier in his presidency. In AP-NORC polls conducted in 2021, Biden’s approval rating among Democrats never dropped below 82%.”

To put this in perspective, shortly after his Inauguration, Biden’s approval among Democrats was at 95%.

A few other interesting highlights from the poll:

  • only 38% back Biden on immigration while
  • 45% of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of U.S./Russia relations while 54% disapprove
  • regarding Ukraine, Americans are divided — 21% of Americans say they have “a great deal of confidence” in Biden’s ability to handle the situation while 39% say they have some confidence and 39% say they have hardly any

The latest poll by Quinnipiac University

Americans give President Joe Biden a negative 35 – 57 percent job approval rating with 7 percent not offering an opinion. In Quinnipiac’s previous national poll released on April 27, 2022, he received a negative 38 – 52 percent job approval rating with 10 percent not offering an opinion.

In today’s poll, registered voters give President Biden a negative 38 – 55 percent job approval rating with 7 percent not offering an opinion. In Quinnipiac’s April 27, 2022 poll, registered voters gave him a negative 40 – 51 percent job approval rating with 9 percent not offering an opinion.

It also shows that across the board, Biden isn’t doing well with voters.

When asked about individual issues, voters don’t really approve of Biden’s handling of just about anything:

  • the response to the coronavirus: 48 percent approve, while 47 percent disapprove;
  • the response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine: 44 percent approve, while 50 percent disapprove;
  • the economy: 32 percent approve, while 63 percent disapprove;
  • the situation at the Mexican border: 28 percent approve, while 58 percent disapprove.

Regarding the economy, 85% of Americans believe that it is either very likely (45 percent) or somewhat likely (40 percent) that there will be an economic recession in the next year. Meanwhile, “1 in 5 Americans (19 percent) say the state of the nation’s economy these days is either excellent (2 percent) or good (17 percent), while 4 in 5 Americans (80 percent) say it’s either not so good (34 percent) or poor (46 percent)” according to the university.

Quinnipiac says that this is the most negative view of the economy in its polling since Biden took office.

The Quinnipiac poll also shows a significant problem for Biden and the Democrats in general — the dramatic loss of Hispanic voters.

Biden’s approval among Hispanics is at just 26% which is a significant drop from 55% around the same time last year.

Gee, maybe insisting on calling Hispanic voters “Latinx” when they don’t like it was a bad strategy.

Everything that this administration touches turns to crap. Voters are now noticing — even the Democrats.

Let’s Go, Brandon!

Check out Doug’s latest book, The Art of Joe: The Political Brilliance of President Biden. If you have left-leaning family members, workmates, or classmates, to buy several copies and place them in common areas. Make sure you have your video camera ready for when they pick it up and thumb through it because they will be triggered which will make for a great viral video to share across social media. Also, buy a couple for the GOP NeverTrumpers that you know. Finally, both the book’s cover and the epilogue, Notable Quotable Joe are worth the price of admission. We’ve included before and after Biden on Afghanistan. Jen Psaki will no likey this book, but you will. BTW, the book is 95% bereft of any content. Just like Biden’s head.
