Calender Shows CDC Director Met With Union Bosses Before Tightening Mask Guidelines

So, is it “trust the science” or “trust the unions”?

We have known for quite a while now that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had been consulting the top two teachers’ unions in the U.S. — the National Education Association (NEA) and American Federation of Teachers (AFT) — when crafting pandemic policies related to schools.

The result? Extended school closures, kids eating outside even in cold weather, and masking students for hours daily with no end in sight.

According to internal calendar documents from May 2021, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky met with several union leaders just one day before tightening the school masking policy guidelines.

The Biden administration tightened the school masking guidance last May after the National Education Association (NEA), the nation’s largest teachers union, had threatened White House officials with publicly releasing harsh criticism, Fox News previously reported.

Walensky’s calendar shows that she also had contact with unions beyond the NEA before the guideline’s release, further illustrating the administration’s coziness with unions during its COVID-19 pandemic guidance process.

On May 13, 2021, the Biden-Harris administration announced that fully-vaccinated Amercians were no longer required to wear masks indoors and outside, but it was unclear what this meant for schools because this was just days after the Pfizer vaccine had been approved for adolescents age 12-15.

According to Fox News, on May 14, “Erika Dinkel-Smith, the White House director of labor engagement, said she stopped the NEA from releasing a critical statement that had called for immediate clarification.”

The union was going to embarrass the administration and the White House couldn’t have that happen. After all, embarrassing the administration is the only thing that the President and the Vice President appear to be successful at doing.

Biden’s CDC met with several union leaders beyond education to hash out the mask policy after the unclear guidance was issued.

On May 14, Walensky also spoke to American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten, Service Employees International Union president Mary Kay Henry, United Food and Commercial Workers International Union president Marc Perrone, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees president Lee Saunders, and Bonnie Castillo, president of the AFL-CIO affiliated National Nurses Union, the calendar shows.

The next day, on May 15, the CDC updated its masking guidance to indicate that all people should wear a mask at school regardless of vaccination status.

Walensky’s press secretary, Jason McDonald, told Fox News Digital that engaging “with organizations and groups that are impacted by guidance and recommendations issued by the agency” was simply part of the long-standing “best practices” at the CDC. McDonald also said that the CDC consulted 14 organizations — including the NEA and the AFT — for input on the guidance for schools.

Teachers’ unions spent a whole lot of cash in 2020 to get Democrats elected.

According to the website Blue Tent which links Democrat donors to progressive causes and candidates, “In 2020, they largely influenced federal elections through the NEA Advocacy Fund and the AFT Solidarity Fund, which spent $5.7 million and $1.5 million, respectively, on outside expenditures as of October.” They do note that the targets for the funding were Senate and House races, but there was some pretty significant backing of Biden by the two largest teachers’ unions.

After Joe’s win was announced in November 2020, Jill told teachers’ unions at a virtual Thank-you event, “Joe and I will never forget what you did for us. Joe and Kamala will not only listen to you, they’re going to make sure that your voices are leading this movement. Educators, this is our moment.”

It appears that the teachers’ unions got pretty good returns on their investment.

The “trust the science” CDC is consulting with unions on how to handle the guidance when it’s pretty clear that the unions wanted to keep schools closed and kids masked up.

How is advocating for what unions want in the best interest of “public health”?

“At every turn, the CDC has told the American people that they have followed the science, but with every record we receive, we see further proof that the CDC keeps turning to teachers unions for guidance instead,” said Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of Americans for Public Trust, who provided Walensky’s calendar to Fox News Digital.

“A supposedly science-based agency should absolutely not be consulting with union boss Randi Weingarten before making important public messaging decisions that impact the lives of children and adults alike,” Sutherland said. “It’s been almost a year since we filed a lawsuit to force the CDC to reveal the true extent that they’ve allowed politics to influence health policy, and Americans have yet to receive full transparency.”

It isn’t. It’s partisan politics under the guise of “consultation.”

This affected workplaces as well as schools.

What’s the point of this again when even Fauci admitted that masks were theater?

The CDC under Biden and unions seem to be pretty cozy.

Fox News previously reported on emails obtained by Americans for Public Trust showing that the NEA and the American Federations of Teachers, the nation’s second-largest teachers union, influenced last-minute changes to the school guidance and received a copy before its public release.

The emails followed a report showing close coordination between the teachers unions and the CDC. Americans for Public Trust had also obtained those emails through the Freedom of Information Act.

Before releasing the reopening guidance, the Biden administration considered teachers unions’ labor disputes, emails show. The administration later tightened the school masking guidance following the threats from the teachers unions.

It is absolutely shameful what they’ve done — and although masks are optional in most places now, some kids are still forced to wear masks. It’s absurd!

The politicization of public health helps no one.

Dear Christian: Your Fear Is Full of Crap

by Doug Giles

Beginning in March 2020, many Christians went into lockdown-freak-out mode.

They “socially distanced” themselves from corporate worship and from pretty much everyone and everything else, except, of course, liquor, and grocery stores.

Uncut, irrational, unbiblical, and not to mention, unconstitutional, fear gripped many churches and church leaders.

Should pastors publicly repent if they obeyed Fauci in regard to how they conducted their ministry instead of adhering to the clear commands of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?

That’s a legit question, eh?

Get your copy of Dear Christian: Your Fear Is Full of Crap now. Better yet, grab an extra copy for any petrified pastor who dutifully put obedience to the unconstitutional edicts of Mayor McCheese ahead of obedience to the explicit commandments of the LORD God Almighty.
