Biden’s Dump Of US Strategic Oil Reserve Helped China Bolster Theirs … Whose Side Is Joe On?

Which is worse? Biden not grasping the point of a Strategic Oil Reserve, or Biden selling out American interests because he’s acting on some kind of a higher priority.

The ‘strategic’ point of a strategic oil reserve is in making sure we never need to bend the knee to some other country holding a gun to our head; also to ensure we have a secure supply for our military needs in the event we go to war.

Several GOP lawmakers sharply criticized President Joe Biden on Thursday following reports of emergency U.S. oil being sent to China and other nations.

More than five million barrels of oil released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) have been diverted to European and Asian nations instead of U.S. refiners, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing customs data. Biden has ordered the Department of Energy to release a total of about 260 million barrels of oil stored in the SPR over the last eight months to combat record fuel prices hitting American consumers.

“The American people deserve answers as to why our emergency energy reserves are being sent to foreign adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party, compromising our energy security and national security,” House Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Cathy McMorris Rodgers told Fox News Digital in a statement.

“President Biden needs to remember that our strategic energy reserves are for emergencies, not to cover-up bad policies. America needs to flip the switch and increase our capacity to produce and refine oil here at home,” she continued. “Now is not the time to use our strategic stockpile.” — FoxBusiness

What an interesting coincidence.

After using Executive Orders to cripple US energy production on Day One, and then dropping our own strategic energy supply to the lowest levels since 1985 to give us a few cents ‘relief’ from the inevitable rise in prices at the pumps, we learn that China used this oil dump to bolster their OWN strategic oil supply.

Those of us with memories longer than a goldfish will notice that this is the exact opposite of what Trump did to top up our supplies back when oil prices crashed to record lows during COVID.

China. Energy. Biden. Is that combination of nouns ringing any bells?

It should.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, “Sinopec went on to enter negotiations to purchase Gazprom in March, one month after the Biden administration sanctioned the Russian gas giant.”
In addition, Unipec has stated it would purchase “no more Russian oil going forward” once “shipments that have arrived in March and due to arrive in April” were fulfilled, but it was revealed that in May, the company “significantly increased the number of hired tankers to ship a key crude from eastern Russia,” according to Bloomberg. — PostMillenial
