Some pastors have been standing up and pushing back against the relentless advance of secularism. They are an example to the rest of us. That derserves proper recognition.

When the Americans declared independence from King George, the call to arms went out.

The Black Robe Regiment began as an insult by the British who saw American clergy and their pro-liberty sermons to have played a big role in shaping the ideas and understanding of the American revolutionaries. Not only did they lead this change from their pulpits, but many led men into battle as well.

The world today is desperate for the kind of change these pastors saw in the hearts and minds of their congregations. So Lt Col Allen West has taken it upon himself to honor and reward those who do. Two worthy pastors every month will get a special gift in recognition of the role they play in holding the line.

If your pastor is one of them, show your appreciation with a nomination for next month’s award.

Forced to choose between obeying the Word of God or the edict of man, most Western Churches buckled. We even saw it here in First Amendment-protected America.

The Apostle Peter buckled to fear on the night of Christ’s crucifixion. But he learned his lesson and lived the rest of his life bold as a lion. How can the church ‘go and do likewise’?
