You may have seen posts on social media about farmers protesting in the Netherlands reminiscent of the Truckers’ protest in Canada.
Politicians in Holland have decided to tackle the problem of nitrogen pollution using drastic measures that will put some farmers out of work. Holland is the second-largest food producer and exporter in the world.
AMSTERDAM, June 10 (Reuters) – The Dutch government on Friday laid out targets for reducing nitrogen pollution in some areas by up to 70% by 2030 – the latest attempt to solve a problem that has plagued the country for years.
Farm and agriculture organizations said the targets were not realistic and called for a protest in The Hague on June. 22.
“This is not going to work,” said Sjaak van der Tak of agricultural organization LTO in a reaction.

Reforms are expected to include reducing livestock and buying up some farms whose animals produce large amounts of ammonia. Farmers are feeling like they are being targeted and not being given any options for their farming future.
With global shortages already, this could be very bad and it seems that the only people concerned are the farmers who are fighting for their livelihood.
Some of the videos have gone viral as the protests have continued to escalate.
Farmers were spreading manure on government buildings, police vehicles, and the street. They were also blocking roads with hay bails and vehicles.

The farmers are making darn sure that their message is heard loud and clear.
Dutch farmers angry at government plans to slash emissions used tractors and trucks Monday to block roads and supermarket distribution centers, sparking fears of store food shortages in the latest actions through a summer of discontent in the country’s lucrative agricultural sector.
The Netherlands’ busiest aviation hub, Schiphol Airport, urged travelers to use public transport to get to its terminals amid fears that the blockades also would target airports. Fishermen acting out of solidarity with farmers also blocked a number of harbors.
The unrest among Dutch farmers was triggered by a government proposal to slash emissions of pollutants like nitrogen oxide and ammonia by 50% by 2030. Provincial governments have been given a year to formulate plans to achieve the goal.

On the Lotus Eaters podcast, Carl Benjamin (also known by his online pseudonym Sargon of Akkad) and Callum Darragh explain what is going on in the Netherlands.
The food shortages, high gas prices, and more concern about the environment than people — it seems like those are features and not bugs in the “new liberal order.”
This is the end path of climate change activism. Eventually everything has to be stopped, even our food supply. Are we the next targets?

Speaking of “bugs” what’s with the constant push by the Great Reset crowd to get everyone to eat bugs?
Well, maybe not everyone — just the little people. The elites can carry on as usual just as they did during COVID.
Here are Tyrant Trudeau and Dutch PM Mark Rutte partying maskless in the Netherlands in October 2021 when many places around the world were still in the ‘Rona Lockdown mode.
Independent journalist Keean Bexte wonders if they may have shared tips on cracking down on peaceful protests.
