OOPS: NYC’s Mayor Eric Accidentally Highlighted The Problem With Biden’s Broken Border (VIDEO)

A few hundred thousand illegal crossings a month is ‘not a crisis’. But a few bus loads of those same migrants landing in NYC? That’s a whole other story.

The Biden administration refuses to admit that there is anything resembling a crisis on our Southern border. To them it’s (officially) a question of compassion.

How could we NOT welcome several million dinner guests slipping over the fence in our backyard, climbing in through an open window to sit down unannounced at the national dinner table?

There’s an old adage about a country having open borders or a welfare state, but not both. New York’s mayor is about to explain why trying to have both is not a sustainable option:

Mayor Eric has come face-to-face with the ‘and then what’ question of Biden’s reckless open border.

As with every other utopian leftist policy, there is this little problem called ‘second-order consequences’. In other words, the ‘then what’ question.

Open Borders Zealots: Let’s bring in 3 million new people a year. (Yay for progressivism!)

The adults in the room: Ok, and then what?

Open Borders Zealots: Then we’ll bring in 3 million more next year!

The Adults: Um… I don’t think you understand the question. What happens to those 3 million people, and the places where they live? Suppose 60,000 destitute ‘newcomers’ land in Baltimore.

What happens to Baltimore’s already overburdened school system and welfare programs? What happens to affordable housing? What happens to food banks? What about childcare options? Will they compete for the same jobs as other people from Baltimore?

Obviously, you don’t need to explain to someone like Mayor Eric that government resources are finite, and that the more people you have with their hand out wanting government to provide something, the less each person can get.

This is where the left gets their ‘piece of the pie’ thinking completely backward.

They set policies as if the government has an infinitely large pie that can be shared freely among everybody, but they treat the private economy as though it’s a zero-sum game where one person gets rich only because someone else is being cheated out of what’s rightfully theirs.

No. The government ‘pie’ is a limited resource, while the contribution of every entrepreneur makes the private sector ‘pie’ larger for everyone.

Unfortunately, the guy who ran on the promise to be the President of ‘all Americans’ knows all of these things. He understands the pain his policies cause to Red States. He just doesn’t care.

He’s got other priorities. Jennifer Palmieri tipped the hand for what those might be back in 2018:

A memo co-authored by former Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri, obtained by The Daily Caller, admits the Democratic Party needs to protect illegal immigrants brought here by DACA in order to ensure those additional votes.
The Center for American Progress (CAP) Action Fund memo, which circulated Monday, called on Democrats to “refuse to offer any votes for Republican spending bills that do not offer a fix for Dreamers and instead appropriate funds to deport them.”
The memo from the left-leaning think tank also said that protecting DACA is not only a “moral imperative” but also a “critical component” in winning elections.
“The fight to protect Dreamers is not only a moral imperative, it is also a critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success,” the memo read.
It finished, “If Democrats don’t try to do everything in their power to defend Dreamers, that will jeopardize Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and beyond.” — FoxNews

For all the outrage they gin up accusing the right of ‘replacement theory’ talk, no explanation is given for why top Democrats seem to think their electoral chances are so closly connected to illegal immigration, or why they are refusing to enforce existing law and endanger lives so that they can have the electoral success they crave.
