Democrats lie and get away with it constantly. Here’s what happens when Republicans push back on the lie…

During a House Judiciary Committee meeting on Wednesday, Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-NY) ghoulishly and disingenuously used the tragic death of a Capitol Police Officer on January 6, 2021, to score political points against his Republican colleagues.

“How many more people needed to die to reach your definition of an insurrection?” Jones yelled across the room at Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC). “On January 6, at the direction of Donald Trump, a violent mob stormed the Capitol. In the process, 138 Capitol and D.C. police officers were injured. A Capitol police officer was bludgeoned to death.”

Rep. Jones was clearly referring to Officer Brian Sicknick who tragically died that day. The New York Times initially reported that his death was due to being hit in the head with a fire extinguisher.

For months, this was the line that was used to attack the January 6 rioters, despite the fact that the only people that died due to violence were Trump supporters — Ashli Babbitt being the most prominent because she was shot by a Capitol Hill Police Officer who was later exonerated, but also Roseanne Boyland who may have been beaten to death.

Once the narrative had solidified in the imagination of the #Resist! crowd, the work was done. Months later, in April 2021, the D.C. Medical Examiner’s Office released an autopsy report that concluded that Officer Sicknick had died of natural causes — a stroke. The report specifically denied any internal or external trauma. This confirmed what Officer Sicknick’s mother had said back in February 2021.

But the Democrats can’t let the truth get in the way of a good lie.

Congressman Dan Bishop (R-NC), with an assist from Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX), call out Congressman Jones for his Big Lie.

Shockingly, Jones tries to double down on the lie while simultaneously attempting to deflect from it. His attempt at verbal gymnastics appears to have been as though a floor exercise routine was executed by Lizzo.

Here’s a transcript of the exchange:

BISHOP: I wasn’t listening, we were conversing a bit — but did I hear… and I think… Did you say that a police officer was bludgeoned to death by the crowd at the January 6th riots?

JONES: I said a police officer was bludgeoned to death, but I did not say at the hands of whom, Mr. Bishop.

BISHOP: Who are you referring to, if you don’t mind my asking?

JONES: I can get that information for you in a few minutes.

BISHOP: Well, I just want to make sure, ’cause I —

JONES: (Interrupting) Are you denying that a Capitol Poli.. — at least one Capitol Police officer was murdered in the midst of what happened on January 6?

BISHOP: Yeah, I think I am deny… Here’s what I understood that there were reports early on that Sicknick was struck with a fire extinguisher and that was subsequently debunked as false. He died of natural causes that were not connected to the event. Are we talking about the same person, Sicknick, or are we talking about somebody else? Seriously, I mean —

ROY: It is a genuine question. Because the Medical Examiner — The U.S. Capitol Police put out a report agreeing with the Medical Examiner finding the USCP Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes.

JONES: Mr. Bishop, just an initial thought, and I know, Mr. Roy, you too, are an attorney, Mr. Bishop speaks often of how brilliant an attorney he is, you know, we are talking about “but for” causation of Officer Sicknick’s death, though I would hope that you would at least concede, at a minimum, that Mr. Sicknick died as a result of what happened on January 6. And I’m disappointed that you would suggest otherwise, sir.

BISHOP: I — Look, I don’t think that’s correct, either. Just… Was he bludgeoned to death? Is that…? ‘Cause I think Ms. Demmings was even looking… we were soto voce between me and her saying he was — I am sincere as I can be. My understanding is that that was debunked and Mr. Roy just read the Medical Examiner’s information. Do you guys contend that he was bludgeoned to death?

JONES: I contend that 138 Capitol Police officers were injured and that multiple Capitol Police officers died as a direct result of what happened on January 6th. And I hope that you —

BISHOP: It’s your time, you don’t have to answer.

JONES: I hope that you can see how one would question the sincerity of such a minute point in the midst of the gravity of everything else.

It’s not a “minute point”, Congressman Asshat, it’s central to your argument. Not a single Capitol Police Officer died as a result of violence from Trump supporters on January 6. Democrats like Jones are using the deaths of Officer Sicknick as well as several suicides of a handful of other officers months later to smear Trump supporters as cop-killers. It’s beyond disgusting.

If you can believe it, Rep. Jones had the audacity to post a clip of his lying rant on his Twitter account. Of course, it isn’t the full exchange.

Twitter users reacted to the absolute boldness of Rep. Jones blatantly lying in a Congressional meeting.

Julie Kelly who has been thoroughly covering the January 6 defendants tweeted about this clip as well.

From her report:

The lie about Sicknick’s death pervades the government’s criminal investigation into the events of January 6. Attorney General Merrick Garland to this day claims that five police officers died following their response to the Capitol protest; Democrats and the media attribute four alleged suicides of law enforcement officers, including a few that occurred months later, to their bogus death count.

Prosecutors routinely cite that figure in court filings. Shortly after accusing Tim Hale-Cusanelli of lying on the stand during his May 2022 trial, assistant U.S. Attorney Kathryn Fifield wrote in Hale’s sentencing recommendation last week that “the attack on the United States Capitol cost half a dozen police officers their lives.” (Fifield did not respond to an email seeking clarification for her claim.)

And according to FBI whistleblower Steve Friend, a supervisor at the Jacksonville FBI field office demanded to know what Friend thought of Capitol protesters who “killed police officers” on January 6. When Friend replied that no officers were killed that day, assistant Special Agent in Charge Coult Markovsky told Friend he was a “bad teammate.”

The biggest purveyor of this Big Lie is the guy with the Bully Pulpit — President Joe Biden himself.

Congressman Mondaire Jones is just following the Democrat playbook.

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.

Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.

This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
