Get the popcorn ready for this one…
In a monologue last week, Stephen Colbert branded Michigan GOP gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon an “anti-choice MAGA Republican” and claimed that she “made up” a story about a voter who switched from Democrat to Republican after finding graphic sexual content in a book at his son’s school.
Colbert showed a clip of the October 25 debate between Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Dixon where she related the story without mentioning the voter by name.
“He said: ‘I found content in my school library describing how to have sex to my son. I went to the Democrats and I said, I cannot believe that this is in there,'” said Dixon during the debate. She added, “He said because Democrats won’t stand up for our children and go back to the basics, ‘I’m leaving the Democratic Party.'”
Colbert expressed doubt that there was such a voter or that any interaction like that happened. He then said that even if it did, it doesn’t make sense that a voter would flip from Dem to GOP because of a sexually-explicit library book in a public school.
It turns out that the voter is very real and that is precisely what happened.
As an added bonus, the voter that Colbert doubted the existence of is a Muslim man who emigrated from Yemen around 20 years ago.
On Wednesday, Dixon posted a link to the article in the Detroit Free Press about Khalil Othman, the concerned parent that flipped parties.
The Dearborn man I referenced in the debate is real and his story is compelling.

A Dearborn resident whose existence was doubted by comedian Stephen Colbert during a monologue last week has a message for the CBS late night host: I am real and so is my switch to the Republican Party…
…”To claim that I’m not here, I don’t exist, I’m not human, that’s absolute ignorance,” Othman, 41, a father of five and former Dearborn city council candidate, told the Free Press. “If this person did his due diligence and start researching or has his team do a little bit of research of who’s this person who attended Dixon’s rally, they will be able to find my name right away easy on social media. Just Google it.”

Othman attended a rally for Tudor Dixon in Flat Rock on October 21 where he told the crowd he’s now a Republican. He even posted a video on Facebook of his remarks later that night.
“My name is Khalil Othman. I came all the way from Dearborn, Michigan,” he said in the video to loud applause. “I’m here along with two parents, concerned parents … against these sexually explicit books.”
At a campaign rally on Sunday, Dixon mentioned the Colbert hit, “I told his story, and Stephen Colbert picks it up,” says Dixon. “And they make this whole skit about how this has never happened. That’s what he said, this story never happened. That’s where the Democrats are right now. You don’t exist, your stories are not important.”
Recently, a group of concerned parents have been protesting the creeping in of far-left critical gender theory into public elementary and secondary school classrooms. A large percentage of those parents just happen to be Muslims.
Othman is part of a group of parents who have been protesting in recent weeks over books in Dearborn’s public school libraries that they say have inappropriate sexual content, including several with LGBTQ themes.
‘I am a proud Muslim American who expresses my values and concerns all the time,’ Othman told the Free Press.
‘Dearborn has been voting Democrat blue for the last decade or two decades. But not anymore. On behalf of myself and my family, I guarantee you for sure that my family and my friends will vote for Republicans,’ he said.

Does this mean that Stephen Colbert should be “canceled” because he “un-personed” a Muslim man? Shouldn’t he have to step down from his show and issue a groveling apology for denying the “lived experience” of a visible minority immigrant because not a single person on his staff was able to use Google? Aren’t those the rules that the Democrats want? Then they should be prepared to live up to them.
Of course, just like what happened in Martha’s Vineyard with the 50 migrants, it’s all just virtue-signaling nonsense and they don’t actually want to abide by the rules that they demand the right must adhere to.
But times they are a-changin’…
Othman is one of the new voting blocs that popped up after the pandemic — concerned parents who had no idea that public schools were taking up class time to push far-left ideologies regarding race and sex instead of educating children in the fundamentals like reading, writing, and math.
This voting bloc made a huge difference in the Virginia gubernatorial race handing Glenn Younkin his win. Republicans were given a clean sweep of the top jobs in Virginia — Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General, thanks in large part to angry, frustrated parents tired of the “woke” B.S. in schools.
The same voting bloc is rising up in other states including Michigan, which is a real boon for Republicans and a nightmare for Democrats.
Polls in Michigan show that Whitmer has lost her double-digit lead in just a few weeks to political newcomer Dixon. In September, Whitmer held a commanding 18-point lead in the race, but that has dwindled to a mere 3.4 points as election day draws closer.
No wonder Dems are terrified and need the white knight celebs to come and help their failing cause.
Unfortunately, one of the Dem champions running to their defense is Stephen Colbert who was much funnier when he was Kirkland brand Bill O’Reilly back in the 90s and early 2000s.
