From Afghanistan to plummeting recruitment, to pushing politically divisive agendas, Biden has done some real damage to the military. we now have our first win in a divided government.

When every whim of Joe Biden’s partisan government could be pushed through without a single Republican vote and appointees with an agenda flew through whether we liked it or not there was nothing to reign in reckless or foolish policy.

It didn’t matter how loudly the minorty complained about the injustice of an issue, the only real brake on that runaway train could be found in court.

Now that the gavel changes hands in a couple of weeks, presumably (but not necessarily) to Kevin McCarthy, Joe Biden’s policy goals actually need the approval of both parties to move forward. What is our first win?

That first win was announced by McCarthy on Maria Bariromo’s Sunday Morning Futures show.

Congress’ annual defense bill, the text of which is set to be published next week, may include a compromise amendment scrapping the military vaccine requirement, Democratic Rep. Adam Smith of Washington told Politico on Saturday. Smith’s comments followed prospective House leader Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s claims on Friday that House and Senate leaders had come to an agreement, which the White House is considering, on overturning the Biden administration’s service-wide mandate, according to Reuters.
President Joe Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and McCarthy had negotiated a bipartisan agreement to end the mandate, McCarthy told Fox News on Friday evening.
“We’re going to see in the NDAA – lift the vaccination mandate on our military men and women,” McCarthy said, referring to Congress’ yearly funding bill for the U.S. military.

We’ll wait until we have something signed before we spike any footballs, but with recruitment cratering and even mainstream news using the phrase ‘pandemic of the unvaccinated’ it’s hard to imagine a justification to block this request, other than spite or a raw display of partisan power of the sort that has made other government departments little more than an extention of one party’s will.
