It takes a special kind of soulless indifference to human life to commit a crime like this one.
A seventeen-year-old girl, and her six-month-old son were two of the six people shot dead in a murder spree that is being attributed to the criminal cartels.
The little California town of Goshen, population about 5,000, nearly 400 miles away from the US-Mexico border might not seem like somewhere you would hear about a cartel executing an entire family.
But, as the border crisis and national fentanyl overdose statistics constantly remind us, every town has become a ‘border town’.
Two suspects are still at large after the shootings on Monday. Authorities stated that the violence against this family was believed to have been deliberate, targeted, and not random.
Six people — including a 17-year-old mother and her 6-month-old baby — were killed in a shooting early Monday at a home in central California, and authorities are searching for at least two suspects, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies responded around 3:30 a.m. to reports of multiple shots fired at the residence in unincorporated Goshen, just east of Visalia, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.
“Actually, the report was that an active shooter was in the area because of the number of shots that were being fired,” Sheriff Mike Boudreaux told reporters.
…The sheriff said investigators are searching for at least two suspects. They believe there is a gang connection to the killings. The sheriff’s office conducted a narcotics-related search warrant at the residence last week, Boudreaux said. –NBCNews
Daily Mail reporting added a heartbreaking detail to this story:
The infant was found cradled in the arms of his mother, Alissa Parraz, in a ditch outside the home in the early hours of Monday. Both had been shot in the head as Parraz attempted to flee with her infant son.
Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.
Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.
This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
