Of all the people in Germany, you’d think the government would tread VERY carefully when it comes to respecting the personal rights of Holocaust survivors.
After all, if anyone has endured enough to warrant special consideration from the German government, it would be the people they were systematically murdering, right?
One would hope and expect that to be the case, but…
Human nature being what it is, the pandemic is teaching us that we have merely exchanged one flavor of government authoritarianism for another.
It was only the quick intervention of a higher court that prevented the government from mandating further personal indignities be perpetrated against Inna Zhvanetskaya through the ruling of a lesser court.
Inna Zhvanetskaya, 85, is a Jewish Holocaust survivor. A court was *this* close to ordering her to be vaccinated against her will and committed to living in an insane asylum.
As a result of the news story, a great many friends and admirers rose to the defense of Ms. Zhvanetskaya.
The original court decision, as reported by Report 24 news looked like this (Emphais in the original):
Her name is Inna Zhvanetskaya. She was born on January 20, 1937 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. As a Jew, she is one of the survivors of the Holocaust. Until she was eight, she and her family had to tremble at the prospect of being picked up, deported and possibly murdered. In ten days she could celebrate her 86th birthday in her adopted home of Germany. A country that she loves even more than her homeland, as she stated in an interview . She was considered a musical celebrity beyond the borders of her future homeland of Russia. The Cambridge Biographical Center (UK) awarded her Woman of the Year in 1992.
But in Germany, which she has come to love so much, a court order was issued which stipulates that her apartment will be forced open and that she will be picked up by force. She is to be taken by force to a doctor who is supposed to “vaccinate her against Covid-19” twice. After that they want to spend her in a closed psychiatric institution. Without people who speak their mother tongue Russian. Without her music, which has filled her life for as long as she can remember.
What does that do to a woman who survived World War II? We asked the district court of Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt this question and did not receive a satisfactory answer. Those responsible should simply not care. The ordered measures are justified with paragraphs 1906 and 1906a BGB. The problem with this: an indication for compulsory vaccination in view of the officially ended pandemic cannot be justified either medically or legally. Her lawyer notes the fact that this woman is a Holocaust survivor and famous musician is serving to draw public attention to the plight of tens of thousands of other people who are being screwed over by the same soulless system.
After an outcry, her case came before a higher court.
A court in the German city of Stuttgart, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, is seeking to force COVID-19 vaccinations for an 85-year-old Jewish composer and a Holocaust survivor, sparking outrage among German journalists and one Jewish community leader. A regional court has overruled the decision. — Jerusalem Post
The real question — explicitly stated — is where are all the supposed ‘Never Again’ leftists who are supposed to care so deeply about the poor and oppressed in situations where they are harmed by an unjust system?
…The Nuremberg Codex should have prevented something like this from ever happening again. But it was wiped out in the Corona era, like any other basic principle of human rights.
Any truly solidary leftist who has learned from history should shudder at the prospect of coercive medical measures. But today’s “leftists” servilely serve the globalism and capitalism against which their predecessors took to the streets. Forced to choose between obeying the Word of God or the edict of man, most Western Churches buckled. We even saw it here in First Amendment-protected America.
The Apostle Peter buckled to fear on the night of Christ’s crucifixion. But he learned his lesson and lived the rest of his life bold as a lion. How can the church ‘go and do likewise’?
