Sam Smith’s Satanic BDSM-Themed Grammy Performance With Caged Transwoman Is Spot On For Hollyweird

Oh, look! Somebody wants attention and it looks like they’re getting it.

Sam Smith, the pudgy meeting point of Elton John, George Michael, and Boy George, apparently paid homage to Satan in his Grammy performance on Sunday night.

Smith, who said that he came out as gay at age 10 and then as non-binary in 2019, performed his song “Unholy”, a collaboration with Kim Petras, with over-the-top satanic visuals.

The Daily Mail noted that a number of people on social media blasted Smith for the performance.

One tweeted: ‘I know we on the right probably use the word satanic too often but this performance from Sam Smith is literally a tribute to Satan.’
Another added: ‘You don’t have to be super religious to be disturbed by that Sam Smith devil-worshiping performance.’
One viewer stated: ‘That Sam Smith performance was weird I had to look away like why artists so obsessed with the devil????
‘How you go from those tributes to Sam Smith dressed as a devil?’, one viewer asked while another tweeted: ‘That devil worshipping performance was trash. And it’s been done so many times. I’m disappointed af.’
One frustrated music fan added: ‘I’m really so sick of the satanic and demonic references…even with the hypocrisy — I still wanna know WHY Nicki, Sam Smith, Lil Nas X, and so many others reference the devil.’
Another agreed as they stated: ‘So many devil horns tonight, first Sam SMITH, now Steve Lacy. Like why the satanic s**t?’

Stephanie Hamill of the Media Research Center posted a clip of the performance:

CBS tweeted a response to Smith’s tweet with shots of the rehearsal that read, “…we are ready to worship.” The tweet has been deleted, but not before there were screenshots of it.

They’d never say that about a Christian performance, though.

To the surprise of no one, the performance had rave reviews in the press.

Surrounded by a monochromatic wash of red lights and in front of a backdrop of fire, Smith opened up the song, encircled by dancers, wearing an ensemble and working with props that had allusions to BDSM themes. Halfway through the song, Smith added a horned hat to his look.
Petras sang her section from inside a cage on stage, and wore a red leather mini-dress with her signature long, blonde hair.

Sam Smith and Kim Petras won the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Unholy” and it was a “historic” win according to the fawning media since Smith identifies as non-binary and Petras is transgender.

Is it because the performance was all that good or because it was a “historic” collaboration? We’ll never know.

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but to me, it just looks like a stunt to gin up outrage and get clicks.

How’s that different from the regular degeneracy pushed forward by celebrities every other day of the year?

I’m saying that because the song is about degeneracy and Smith said that it was “theatrical” in itself — and he’s right. It’s about a philanderer who has a side-chick (presumably a stripper) that he showers with expensive gifts for her “special favors” and his wife has no idea. It’s called “Unholy” because he’s breaking the vows he made when he entered into a covenat relationship that we call “holy matrimony.”

How does that fit with the performance? Great question.

Devil-worshipping imagery for a song that’s about a dirtbag cheating husband makes about as much sense as morphing from a gay man to someone who doesn’t even know if he is a man 100% of the time.

Musicians making a big show of worshipping the Devil has been done so many times before it’s become cliché.

Heck, it’s so overdone that Smith needed to stick a transgender person inside of a cage to make push things further.

And it’s still not as edgy as Li’l Nas X’s 2021 video where he gave Satan a lapdance which he used to market a limited run customized “Satan” Nikes. Smith sold over $666,000 worth of shoes out with that little stunt.

But it isn’t about overtly worshipping the devil at all — it’s about undermining religion in general.

They believe the devil is real about as much as they believe that God is real… and that is not at all. They do this to mock people of faith for their belief as they pretend to worship Satan to laugh at the outrage. Just look at the replies to the outraged tweets.

What these people who think it’s so funny that Christians abhor the satanic imagery don’t seem to realize is that this elevation of self and celebrating “pride” is exactly the thing that the Devil represents.

Kim Petras explained why they took a song about a cheating husband and made it all about Satan worship… but I’m not really sure that I follow the thought process.

“I think a lot of people, honestly, have kind of labeled what I stand for and what Sam stands for as religiously not cool,” said Petras in the press room after the performance. “And I personally grew up wondering about religion and wanting to be a part of it, but then slowly realizing it doesn’t want me to be a part of it. So it’s a take on not being able to choose religion and not being able to live the way that people might want you to live, because, you know, as a trans person, I’m kind of already not wanted in religion.”

Oh… so it’s about religion not conforming to you and accepting you because you know more than God in how He made you and your place in Hiscreation.

In the Christian faith, we learn that someone else thought that way, too… that very fallen angel whose image this performance is centered around elevating.

You’re just saying the quiet part out loud, guys.

Speaking of saying the quiet part out loud…

Yeah, that just about sums up the last few years, doesn’t it?

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.

Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.

This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
