Almost Two Years After FOIA, We Finally Have 254 NIH Emails About Ivermectin — Here’s What We Know

A lot has changed since June of 2021.

Back then, the Taliban were NOT ruling Afghanistan. Ukraine was NOT being reduced to rubble by Russians. And egotistical trolls in labcoats were directing our COVID response policy while claiming to be the Very Personification of Science Itself.

We have since learned a lot about how Fauci and Francis Collins used their position in government to silence anyone who challenged the official narratives of government as ‘misinformation’.

It was a fantastic tool so far as consolidating political power and destroying your political rivals goes, but not one conducive to either living in a free society or learning from your mistakes (anyone who dares mention said mistakes is censored and silenced as a spreader of disinformation).

Unfortunately for the living embodiment of science, they got a few things wrong. More than a few, actually. Which makes the suppression of information all the more serious.

Among the information that was suppressed were any positive reports, though emerging from very different places, that Ivermectin could prove to be an inexpensive, safe, and easily mass-produced treatment option for Covid-19.

Ivermectin — a medication that has been available for human use since the Reagan administration, and was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2015 for effectively wiping out several tropical diseases — was suddenly demonized.

Judicial Watch made a FOIA request in June of 2021, and sought court enforcement of it in August. It turns out that a British group had been studying the efficacy of Ivermectin and believed urgently that it should be ‘approved immediately for prevention and treatment of covid-19’.

Judicial Watch has finally received these records, though heavily redacted.

In February 2021, a leading British physician and World Council for Health co-founder Dr. Tess Lawrie, who is director and founder of a doctors’ organization called the British Ivermectin Recommendation Development Group (BIRD), emailed 31 Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials, including the Director of the Offfice of New Drugs in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research Peter Stein; Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research Director Peter Marks; and then-Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock; and copying several leading foreign medical figures, with an email titled “URGENT: The BIRD meeting and recommendation on covid-19 prevention and treatment.” She attached a document titled “Draft BIRD Proceedings 25-02-2021 v.1.4.pdf.”

While the document attached to the email is completely redacted, Lawrie’s cover letter states: “BIRD panel conclusions are that Ivermectin should be approved immediately for prevention and treatment of covid-19:”

The British Ivermectin Recommendation Development Panel recommends ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of covid-19 to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with covid-19 infection and to prevent covid-19 infection among those at higher risk. [Emphasis in original]

The BIRD Steering Group has taken heed of the WHO statement on ‘Developing global norms for sharing data and results during public health emergencies’ that states that ‘public disclosure of information of relevance to public health emergencies should not be delayed’, and also notes the ‘very great risks’ that can occur from ‘withholding data and results arising from analyses’. We are, therefore, sharing this evidence-to decision framework within just a few days of the BIRD meeting to avoid delay.

Further, due to the urgency related to the communication and dissemination of this recommendation that is aimed at saving thousands of lives daily, please forgive the limitations of the draft proceedings document attached. Information on the process and methods can be found among the annexes. An Executive Summary is being finalised and will be available on Monday. –Judicial Watch

Instead of opting for transparency, showing the results of this study and then providing wider context to support or contradict it, the study itself was suppressed.

Later that day, Woodcock forwards Lawrie’s email and attachment to then-NIH Director Francis Collins, NIAID Director Anthony Fauci, Operation Warp Speed director David Kessler and several other HHS officials, with a comment that is entirely redacted.

“Rather than educate the public about the supposed reasons for their rejection of the Ivermectin-use recommendation, the FDA, NIH, and Fauci’s former agency have blacked out their responses in these documents,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. –Judicial Watch

If the folks from the BIRD panel believed Ivermectin could save thousands of lives a day, and ought to be immediately implemented both as a treatement and as a prophylactic, why would our government be redacting these documents even now that the pandemic is all but over?

What motivated the suppression of Ivermectin then and information now?

Was it science?
Politics?
Pressure?
Or plain old profit motive?

A far more important follow-up question, whose seriousness is very much shaped by the answer to that one — did people die because of this suppression? And if so… how many?

Dear Christian: Your Fear Is Full of Crap

by Doug Giles

Beginning in March 2020, many Christians went into lockdown-freak-out mode. Uncut, irrational, unbiblical, and not to mention, unconstitutional, fear gripped many churches and church leaders. Forced to choose between obeying the Word of God or the edict of man, most Western Churches buckled. We even saw it here in First Amendment-protected America.

The Apostle Peter buckled to fear on the night of Christ’s crucifixion. But he learned his lesson and lived the rest of his life bold as a lion. How can the church ‘go and do likewise’?
