Allen West and Doug Giles Discuss Being Bold Christians

When Christian leaders faced test after test in the last few years, a sickening number fell flat on their faces.

We have seen leaders waver in their decisions as the unbelieving World put forward a ‘loyalty test’ between itself and the explicit will of a Holy God.

Sometimes the test took the form of the Rainbow activist set. Sometimes it was about bowing the knee to the ‘greater good’ during COVID. Sometimes it took the form of accepting the premise of racial, economic, or environmental agendas that conflicted with scripture.

That quick list doesn’t even count the mundane compromises where leaders are tempted to duck all mention of the thorny parts of scripture leading the conversation into uncomfortable places where God’s word calls out comfortable sins.

Will we obey God, or kneel before man? It takes a test before we know for certain.

We’re coming out the other side of at least some part of these tests. We’re seeing which leaders stood strong, which ones realized they needed to repent for past stumblings, and which ones STILL prefer the ‘go along to get along’ model.

We may have been lulled into slumber by the good times enjoyed in generations gone by. But we’re entering a season in which society is openly hostile to the church and will take swings at us at every opportunity.

In such opposition, God raises up shepherds who can rise to the challenge — leaders with the same kind of calling as John the Baptist.

What does that mean in today’s context? That’s what Allen West asks on his show. Here’s my answer:

And the book we were talking about?

Here it is:

John The Baptist: A Rude Awakening Precedes A Great Awakening.

This timely little tome chronicles the politically incorrect ministry of one of God’s most effective wildmen, John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Christ’s ministry.

The abrasive message of repentance John preached 2000 years ago is still confrontational and offensive today — but it is also life-changing.

In our putrid, worldly culture that has turned away from God, this book is a must-read for every Christian.

Available in paperback for those of you who like the feel of the pages in your hot, little hands, on Kindle to keep it right at your fingertips, and as an epic Audiobook.
