Never Before

It’s not just a slogan to say we live in unprecedented times. Age to age people believed their times were unprecedented. But today, it is especially true.

Never before has Artificial Intelligence posed such a threat to liberty, privacy, security, and prosperity. Massive computing power now has a life of its own. AI is taking over.

Never before have nuclear weapons been strategically considered, placing the entire arsenal on a hair trigger. Never before have we faced the combined nuclear powers of China, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, and North Korea. Never before has the risk of an accident been higher.

Never before has the world been so intimately connected and economically interdependent, heightening tensions. Never before has information become so plentiful and unreliable.

Never before have we experienced the combined threats of natural disasters, famine, depression and environmental degradation on such a scale.

Never before have the nations stockpiled such horrific biological, chemical and nuclear weapons. Never before, in the last 150 years, has violence erupted with such fury and frequency.

Never before has the general population been so vulnerable and so apathetic.

Never before has evil successfully pummeled the good. Never before has there been such a sense of fatalism and meaninglessness.

Resulting stress and fear drives record suicide rates. Human life—once considered sacred—is now a commodity. The great sin of slavery is more widespread than ever.

Hearts turn to cold stone every day.

The facts paint a picture of doom but that is not the end of the story.

The majority worldwide call themselves Christians. Christians believe Jesus, the Man/God, lived a perfect life. He taught us about Truth, faith, love, salvation, and so much more. He told us about heaven, and hell. He came to call us to repent of sin. He gave his life to settle our account with the Father. He was crucified for our salvation. He rose from the dead to give us new life. He is coming back to forever slam the door on death, evil and sin.

This is why we have hope. Regardless of man’s pride and presumption, regardless of all the woes of the world, the Great Shepherd will redeem, revitalize and remake this world, taking us back to the thrill of Eden and the life everlasting.

You can allow man’s sinful nature to discourage you to death. Or, you can choose the King of Kings who encourages you unto eternal life. Never before has the good news of the Gospel been more consequential for you, and for the world.
