The Strange Case of Georgia Bilham

Just recently a 21-year-old British woman named Georgia Bilham has gone to trial after being arrested for posing as a boy online in order to seduce a teenage girl.

Georgia Bilham had deceived the girl with a fake social media profile, using an alias George Perry, and the username George_132. For her profile picture, Georgia used a cartoon picture of a blonde-haired man wearing sunglasses. Georgia also told her victim that she liked to wear hoodies because she was part of an Albanian criminal gang.

Eventually, the two would meet in person. Due to her victim’s poor eyesight, Georgia was able to continue passing herself off as a boy. Georgia even asked her victim to take off her glasses, which enabled them to have sex without her true identity being discovered.

Her victim did become suspicious when Georgia refused to be touched intimately. She also got suspicious after both of them were in a traffic accident and the police referred to Georgia with her real name instead of George, but Georgia convinced her that she was using a fake driver’s license, so they continued to see each other. In addition, when pressed for photo identification, Georgia gave her victim photos of a young blonde-haired man.

Georgia’s deception was exposed when she met her victim’s mother, who suspected that her daughter’s boyfriend was a woman.

Georgia had also used her fake profile to hook up with another woman named Nikita Hughes. When the two met in person, Georgia wore a hoodie the entire time to conceal her true identity. In addition, Nikita noticed Georgia was demonstrating strange behavior during the course of their date. Georgia even pushed Nikita away after she caught a glimpse of her face. As a result, Nikita decided not to see her again.

Although Georgia has seemingly regretted her actions, she has denied the charges and has refused to cooperate with investigators. She also denied being a lesbian.

It is unclear why Georgia chose to pose as a boy online in order to meet other women, let alone have relationships with women since she said she’s not a lesbian. Could it be mental illness? Was she living out a sexual fantasy? Was she trying to be a copycat of Gemma Watts, who posed as a boy online in order to seduce teenage girls a few years ago?

At any rate, the trial continues this week, in which she faces multiple charges of sexual assault and penetration.
