We’ve got conflicting voices from every direction telling young men what being a guy is supposed to look like.
Social media influencers would make you think peak masculinity is all about money, fast cars and easy women, forgetting we’ve all seen the very public examples of countless celebrities who’ve tried that recipe only to make an absolute wreck of their own lives.
Youth group leaders are hard at work cranking out either Ned Flanders clones or rank-and-file woke activists.
All while guys try to find their path in a world that views men as toxic and evil (if they’re lucky) or worse, that can’t even bring itself to admit there is any actual difference between dudes and chicas.
No bueno.
But there’s some good news. Not ONE of these paths is the one you’ll find Jesus or the other Biblical leaders walking. There is another, better way.
Better yet, it’s a way that doesn’t make you leave your wedding tackle behind when you step through the church door.
It’s time for the Church to take back its leadership role in society.
That process begins with the church getting brutally honest about what masculinity REALLY looks like through the eyes of the One who invented it in the first place.
