HEY IRAN: Israel’s Shiny New Toy Throws A Wrench In Your ‘Overwhelm With Rockets’ Plan

Israel suddenly has a near-infinite ability to swat down those rockets like mosquitos

Israel has possibly the world’s most sophisticated missile defence system.

It integrates Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and the American Patriot missile system in a high-tech umbrella protecting Israeli civilians from a rain of missiles from Iran’s terrorist proxies… whether from Hamas or Hezbollah.

The limitation it DOES have is one we saw at the outset of the current war. It takes a rocket to kill a rocket. There is finite supply and while Hamas can build wave after wave of DYI rockets for comparatively little money, the defensive ones used to shoot them down are NOT cheap.

That set up a scenario where they had to triage the degree of threat an individual missile posed against the likely target compared to the number of missiles they had in reserve to protect vital infrastructure.

There is also a relatively small failure rate to deal with if the missile misses.

It’s a weakness Iran and their jihadi buddies could exploit. Even if they don’t strike a target, it forces Israel to waste money on high-end defensive rockets.

But that’s about to change. Israel has lasers.

No, not the ‘space lasers’ that people like to meme about.

Real ones.

Military grade.

Israel’s defenses took a giant leap forward this week when — for the first time ever — it used a laser beam to shoot down an incoming rocket fired by terrorists in Gaza.

This isn’t science fiction, but the product of years of research and experimentation.

The US military is doing its own laser-beam or “directed energy” research, and Israel and the United States cooperate.

Lockheed Martin and Israel’s Rafael are developing Iron Beam, and ultimately it can mean not only ground-based laser defenses but lasers to mount on ships and planes as well.

Israel fielded the weapon for the first time in combat a few days ago, and it could change the country’s air defense posture in the next few years.

It’s called Iron Sting and is part of the larger Iron Beam laser defense system. — NYPost

Knocking out incoming missiles for less than the price of a latte?

Game changer.

Not only does this solve the problem of waves of missiles, it could prove valuable in another way.

Remember how Hamas used drones to knock out the security towers that served as Israel’s early warning system just before the slaughter of innocents on 10/7? Imagine if there was a laser battery set up to take out drones before they could get in a position to wipe out the watch towers?

The terrorists would have to go back to the drawing board… again.
