A young woman who had been held hostage in Gaza for nearly two months after being abducted from the Nova Music Festival by terrorists is telling her story to Israeli news Channel 13.

In a clip released on Thursday, Mia Schem, 21, says that she endured “a holocaust” while she was held captive. She says that she wants everyone to understand the truth about the situation she was in while she was being held hostage — she suddenly realized that she was being kept in a family home and that entire families in Gaza were in service to Hamas.

A 21-year-old Israeli-French tattoo artist who was abducted by Hamas has recalled the horrors that she faced in Gaza in her first interview, saying she “went through a holocaust” during her 54 days in captivity.
Mia Schem was asked in a preview clip of an interview with Channel 13 why she decided to open up about her experience at the hands of the terrorists.
“It was important to me to relay the truth about the nature of the people who live in Gaza, who they are truly are and what I experienced there,” the young woman tells journalist Lior Veroslavski in the clip released Thursday.
Veroslavski replies, “It was important to you that the world understands what?”
“That I went through a holocaust,” the former hostage says, matter-of-factly. “Everyone over there is a terrorist.”

In a second clip, Schem talks about how she was afraid to sleep because she was in the same room as the terrorist who was “checking her out.”

Another clip being shared online has Shem going further talking about the ordeal she endured — how she was shot in the arm and given medical treatment without anesthetic, and when she was taken into Gaza she felt like a zoo animal.

The anti-Israel crowd and/or the Hamas supporters (admittedly, there’s some pretty significant overlap there) are dismissing Schem’s claims in the clip as Israeli propaganda.

Social media users are citing the video that was released by Al Jazeera, a Qatari state-funded news organization, which has a heavy pro-Islamist and pro-Qatar bias. Qatar just happens to be the country where the leaders of Hamas are currently living the high life while Palestinians in Gaza have to rely on Israel for electricity and water.

What a weird coincidence!

It’s probably safe to take whatever Al Jazeera posts regarding the Israel-Gaza War with several large grains of salt.

The English translation of the Arabic caption from Al Jazeera reads, “Scenes obtained by #AlJazeera documenting the Qassam Brigades handing over the seventh batch of Israeli detainees to the Red Cross in #Gaza. #Gaza_War #News

In the video that shows hostages being released, Schem is recorded talking to the camera operator that everything was “good” while she was held hostage in Gaza for 54 days.

That particular narrative is shattered once Schem reunited with her family — she behaves as someone who never thought she’d see her family again.

Other hostages have reported difficult conditions — they were deprived of food and water, in unclean conditions with no bathroom facilities, kept in darkness, as well as endured psychological, physical, and, in some cases, sexual abuse.

Mia Schem posted a photo on social media of her new tattoo that reads, “We will dance again” along with the date 7.10.23.
