Before You Book That United Flight… There’s Something You Should Know

When a company does something to offend the public, there is a big difference in how both sides of the aisle handle it.

The left’s default position is to punish ‘heretics’ for having the ‘wrong’ ideas. It only took a single interview with an obscure Christian magazine for the openly-Christian Chick-Fil-A to become a group that was demonized around the world, down to pressure campaigns to cancel business leases and bylaws to prevent them opening in some cities.

The right handles things differently. If someone makes it clear that they hate us and everything we stand for, we will think twice about doing business with them, and look for someone else who might do business with us without the snarky attitude. Just ask Bud Light.

United Airlines has as its official slogan, ‘good leads the way’.

It almost sounds like an echo of ‘God leads the way’, but obviously, that’s NOT what they had in mind. This was an effort to cram a virtue signal into the company motto.

Look at us, we are the ‘good’ people.

That sounds like it might be a worthy aspiration. But, as always, the devil is in the details. (Sometimes, literally.) For example, what does United Airlines mean by ‘good’?

Traditionalists and woke activists both have *very* different understandings about what that might entail. Which one are we dealing with here? Fortunately, we don’t have to wonder… the CEO has spelled it out for us.

Sure am glad I don’t own any stock in THAT company.

But those who do, and have any burning questions, might want to drop a line to their board of directors and ask what the hell they are thinking.

It’s not as if a door just blew off an aircraft that was built by a company that has been playing the same game of elevating these identity politics above skill and merit or anything… right?

Of course not.
