LINN: Trump-Haters, The Superbowl, Iran Claims Antarcitca, And More

Here are some thoughts for this week.

  • The Kansas City Chiefs won their third Super Bowl in the past five seasons. Then their victory parade was ruined by some juvenile delinquents carrying out a shooting over an apparent dispute they were having. No doubt the gun control crowd will be making noise over this incident, especially since it happened on the sixth anniversary of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Meanwhile, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce did not propose to Taylor Swift in the event of the Chiefs win as some people speculated. Meanwhile, since the Black National Anthem was again sung at the Super Bowl, I was wondering if someone will compose a Latino National Anthem, or an Asian National Anthem, or an LGBT National Anthem. At any rate, I predict that Taylor Swift will sing the National Anthem for next year’s Super Bowl, and Selena Gomez will be the halftime performer.
  • The Islamic Republic of Iran claims that Antarctica is its territory, and plans to build a military base at the South Pole. Never mind the fact that the Antarctic Treaty prohibits any type of military activity on the continent. But Iran probably does not care, since it is trying to carry out global jihad, which supersedes any international agreement. It should be noted that logistically speaking, the Iranian Government might have difficulty in establishing a military base there.
  • The Trump haters are using any method they can think of in order to destroy him, whether it be lawsuits, trying to get him removed from the ballot, etc. What they don’t realize is that he is not going down without a fight. Regardless, it is clear that Old Joe Biden does not need to be re-elected, given his senility and the fact he is an arrogant ass.
  • Since personnel from the UNRWA were involved with Hamas in the October 7 attacks against Israel, then perhaps the UNRWA (and even the UN for that matter) should be disbanded.
  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was told he was not eligible for Secret Service protection until this summer. Why is that? Does someone want him to be assassinated like his father and uncle?
  • In January 2025, Monday Night RAW will be shown on Netflix instead of USA. So now WWE fans will have to get Netflix in order to watch it.
  • With all the realignments taking place in college sports (e.g. several Pac-12 schools leaving for the Big Ten), there are bound to be a ton of scheduling and logistical headaches for the athletic departments involved. I think such schools would have been better off being members of the conferences they were in.

And those are my thoughts for this week.
