Aussie Priest Comes Back With Surprising Message After Jihadi Stabbing Attack

His message for the guy who knifed him will leave you speechless

The day he came back just happened to coincide with Australia’s national day for remembering the war dead.

Naturally, Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel took a moment to remember those who fought and those who died… with a particular emphasis paid to defending freedom of speech and religion.

It’s kind of a hot-button issue right now with the Australian government going to war against Elon Musk to have the right to globally censure videos whose content they dislike… in particular, this one video of a jihadi stabbing a priest in the middle of a church service.

Here he — who, we remind our readers was the victim of the attack they are trying to censor– defending the right of others to post the video, contrary to the demands of the very politically-correct Australian government.

“I do acknowledge the Australian government’s desire to have the videos removed because of their graphic nature,” Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel said in audio posted on YouTube on Wednesday.

“However, noting our God-given right to freedom of speech, and freedom of religion, I’m not opposed to the videos remaining on social media,” Emmanuel added. — AP

That’s a pretty bold and dramatic stand.  But it wasn’t even CLOSE to the most bold and dramatic statement he made that day.

For that, we would have to turn to the words he reserved for his attacker.

That’s what courage looks like. He offered a pure, uncut gospel to the man who tried to end his life in the name of religion.

That’s the kind of grace that brought a murderous Saul of Tarsus around to serving the Living God, and it’s a moment those of us who bear the name of Christian would do well to reflect on for at least a moment or two before returning to our very busy lives.
