Did You Catch The Nasty Diss In Biden’s Reaction To Trump Assassination Attempt #2?
As POTUS, he's obligated to make a statement, but word choice matters
Does this REALLY sound like the compassionate concern of a man who pledged to be the President of ALL Americans?
The biggest con-job in a long list of affronts Joe Biden made on unsuspecting voters caught up in the panic of a pandemic was the claim to be a ‘return to normalcy’, a shift to the center, and a man who would unite us under less radical policies.
Clearly, he was lying. But there are moments when you are called upon to be Presidential and transcend your political leanings.
America saw a brief glimmering moment of such unity after 9/11. There was some optimism that we had finally turned the page on racial animus when Obama was elected. And this spirit of unity was embodied perfectly in the answer given in ’81 when another Republican president felt the brunt of a bullet.
Surrounded by the bright lights and masked surgeons, Reagan whispered, “Please tell me you’re Republicans.” The lead surgeon, an avowed Democrat, answered, “Today, Mr. President, we’re all Republicans.” The president then drifted into unconsciousness. — Source
Contrast that surgeon’s wonderful moment of bipartisan unity to the three tweets Biden put out. (The Threadreader tool collapsed them into a single text block for easier reading.)
What do you notice about Biden’s reaction to the second attempt on Trump’s life?
Attentive readers will note how carefully and deliberately he is avoiding the use of Trump’s name. Wouldn’t want to humanize his opponent or anything by treating him like a real person with an actual name, would he?
It’s hard to humanize someone when the entire election strategy rests on demonizing him so you don’t have to face the inadequacies of how your own policies and record stack up against his.
In fact, Biden went a very long time into his presidency without EVER mentioning him by name in public at all. He would always use a euphemism or placeholder like ‘my predecessor’, or ‘the former President’… if he even bothered to afford him THAT much dignity.
It was only after his strategy pivoted to tagging him and his supporters with the ‘extreme MAGA’ label that he began invoking Trump’s name at all.
I suspect you’d be hard-pressed to come up with clips where he mentions Trump’s actual name WITHOUT attaching it to some kind of a negative context. (I suspect the folks over at Grabien would be happy to dig that up for us.)
The man who tried to kill Trump today Tweeted democracy was on the ballot and we can’t afford to fail. Then he tried to kill Trump. He was directly motivated by the claims of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to kill Trump. pic.twitter.com/awWuFusDvh

After all their bloviating about Republicans being some kind of a threat to Democracy, this montage seems relevant in the current context, doesn’t it?
2.5 minutes of Democrats explicitly calling for using political vioIence.
They own this. pic.twitter.com/vMpVbmJYmc
