Soldier Succumbs To Injuries Sustained In Biden’s Doomed Gaza Pier Mission

Sgt. Quandarius Stanley was 23, and well respected by his peers

At the State of the Union, Joe Biden Joe Biden made a ‘bold’ announcement that America would be building a pier to deliver aid to Gaza. Four months later, he admitted it was a failure.

Directly or indirectly, Sgt Quandarious Stanley has paid for Biden’s failure with his life.

The soldier, 23-year-old Sgt. Quandarius Davon Stanley, was one of three US service members injured in non-combat incidents during the mission, though two were immediately returned to duty after suffering minor injuries. He was assigned to the 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary), out of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

Stanley was recently medically retired by his unit because his injuries meant he would be unable to continue military service, a defense official said. He died on October 31.

“Stanley was injured while supporting the mission that delivered humanitarian aid to Gaza in May 2024 and was receiving treatment in long-term care medical center,” Capt. Shkeila Milford-Glover, a spokesman for the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, said Monday. — CNN

So much for Joe’s promise that there would be no Americans in harm’s way.

“Tonight, I’m directing the US military to lead an emergency mission to establish a temporary pier in the Mediterranean on the Gaza coast that can receive large ships carrying food, water, medicine and temporary shelters,” the president said.

He promised “no US boots will be on the ground”, and said: “This temporary pier would enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance getting into Gaza every day.” — Guardian

That same CNN article mentions that the US Army Watercraft (used in the Gaza Pier mission) were in poor repair, according to a GAO office.

The mission itself was ill-advised from the beginning. And Biden’s experts told him so. But Biden had made up his mind.

President Biden announced that the US military would construct the pier in his 7 March State of the Union address, in the face of warnings from marine logistics specialists that it would be able to handle only mild to moderate seas.

The eastern Mediterranean is known for choppier waters and the pier, first deployed on 16 May, was taken down on 17 July, much sooner than expected, after it was judged to be no longer feasible in the weather conditions. It spent much of the time in between in the nearby port of Ashdod, being repaired or sheltered. — NPR

As anti-Trump activists dig up hearsay stories about Trump supposedly disparaging the military, keep in mind that the current administration — Biden and Harris both! — have claimed in recent months that there are ‘no Americans in War Zones’.

Shouldn’t a Commander-in-Chief who expects those in uniform to risk their lives in the service of the country at MINIMUM have some idea of whether anyone is serving in harm’s way?

We at ClashDaily offer Sgt. Stanley’s loved ones our deepest condolences and we thank him for serving his country with honor.
