A Week in Review

This past week has been an eventful one, and here are some of the top stories:

  • Caitlin Clark was selected as Time Magazine’s Athlete of the Year, and while being interviewed by Time, she said her achievements were due to “white privilege”. Why did she say that? Is she going woke? Is she hoping her statement would put her in the good graces of her fellow WNBA players (including those who have inflicted hard fouls on her)?
  • Nancy Pelosi fell and injured herself while in Luxembourg to commemorate the 80 th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. The details are sketchy at the moment.
  • The man who fatally shot UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was arrested at a McDonalds in Pennsylvania. The suspect’s name is Luigi Mangione, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania who came from a
wealthy family. And like most college students these days, Mangione was indoctrinated into taking up causes from the left. So he decided (in his view) to take a stand against healthcare providers (and possibly corporate America as well) by murdering a CEO in cold blood.
  • In Syria, rebels supported by the Islamist Group Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) have overthrew the regime of Bashar al-Assad. Assad has since fled to Russia, who had been supporting his regime against the rebels. Although Assad was a brutal dictator, there is a power vacuum in Syria, which is now a danger zone for Christians (who are being targeted by Islamists).
  • Meanwhile, Israel has eliminated 70-80% of Syria’s military assets, thus ending Syria’s role as a threat to Israel (at least for the time being pending what happens in the aftermath of Assad’s abdication).
  • With a little over a month left in his administration, Old Joe Biden is pushing more environmental measures (i.e. pushing lawsuits against oil and gas companies for global warming/climate change). Biden is also taking the fight against “Islamophobia” and issuing more pardons. He also set a record for government regulations.
  • A series of drones have been spotted over New Jersey and California. There has speculation over where they came from. Some say it’s a classified exercise by the government. The authorities say it is the work of
private citizens. But New Jersey Congressman Jeff Van Drew says the drones were launched from an Iranian mothership off the Atlantic coast.
  • One thing is for certain: the authorities need to find out who is launching these drones and take the appropriate measures.

Thus, it has been an eventful week.
