BREAKING: Trump Responds To The Criminal Sentence In NY Trial… And More

Trump took to his own TruthSocial platform to blast the lawfare process than ended with a criminal verdict whose only consequence is the reputation damage and restriction of rights that go with such a verdict.

Much has been said before now about the irregularities in the charging, the evidence, the jury instructions and even questions of jurisdiction. The defendant wasn’t even given the benefit of having the specific allegations against him being articulated until the closing, preventing his attorneys from mounting an informed legal defense.

We can’t even say with certainty, which specific crime the jury found him guilty of, or whether they all agreed on what he had done wrong — because jury instructions did not require that of them.

Trump will surely have much to say in coming days about the process, the gag order he endured, and the entanglements of personalities central to the case.

But the lawfare nonsense he’s facing today gets worse.

New York’s legal shenanigans to the detriment of Trump are continuing, as we see from a story he posted just yesterday:

FIRST ON FOX: A New York Court assigned a new judge to preside over the civil fraud case against President-elect Trump brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, seemingly replacing Judge Arthur Engoron, but hours later, the court put him back on the case, sources close to Trump’s legal team told Fox News Digital.

The case and the trial were handled by Judge Arthur Engoron, who was accused by Trump allies of acting with bias against the president-elect, his family and his company.

Sources familiar told Fox News Digital the court sent out an automated email at around 12:45pm on Thursday, notifying the parties that it had assigned New York County Supreme Court Justice Judith McMahon of Staten Island to the case.

But several hours later, at 4:12pm, attorneys on the case received another automated message from the court system notifying them that Judge Arthur Engoron was assigned back to the case.

A source close to Trump’s legal team told Fox News Digital that they are concerned with the back-and-forth. — FoxNews
