Can MAGA Make The WORLD Great Again? — History Tells Us ‘Yes’

Just days before the world got swept up in pandemic panic, life was as good as its ever been

Just days before the pandemic pulled the plug on all of us, life was literally as good as it’s ever been… and not just in America. Even foreign newspapers were admitting as much.

You’d never know it by the gloom-and-doom being preached by Chicken Little Democrats promising climate collapse, fomenting racial division, and fear-mongering about Trump in every single story — but the Twenty-teens were a pretty good decade.

Yes, we had conflict in various parts of the world. Yes, we had mass displacement with the refugee crisis, and all the chaos that goes with that. There are a thousand-and-one examples of things you might point to in telling the world that times are tough. But really, in the bigger picture, they were as good as they’ve ever been… not just in America, but worldwide.

And some of us believe that isn’t a high-watermark to be lamented and longed for, but a springboard by which the world can go far beyond what we’ve known before.

ClashDaily reported a story, exactly five years ago today, in which we said that the previous decade was the best we’ve seen in human history.

It’s a bold claim, but one that holds up.

It cited a Spectator article out of the UK (by no means a right-wing source), that gave a list of reasons that (in many ways) the world was in the best shape it’s ever been in.

Some of the arguments from the article:

  • The drop in global poverty to below 10% for the first time ever.
  • Falling infant mortality levels
  • Disappearance of famine
  • Malaria, polio and heart disease down
  • Increased sustainability
  • Agriculture advances
  • Economic growth supporting ecological goals

Those are great steps, but what if things like Starlink and online learning open up a world of new possibilities to other people. What if we harness nearly-unlimited cheap energy from out-of-favor sources like nuclear or Hydrogen, and make them available at scale so cheaply that people can thrive on every continent, without relying on coal furnaces to provide it. Imagine what that would mean for powering hospitals, or the refrigeration of food and medicines, or manufacturing industries done locally around the world.

How many of the world’s problems could we solve collectively if higher education in the sciences or engineering were widely available without cost being a barrier?

We’re getting close to that now.

And that’s just the sort of optimism Trump and his team are hoping to unleash in America.

If they’re successful? The benefits can’t help but spill over into the entire world. As for the doom-and-gloomers? It’s time to cancel your apocalypse party. Life’s just about to get REALLY interesting.
