The idea of “divine accountability” sounds like a sermon title for a real fire-and-brimstone salvation message. Probably could be… maybe should be. It’s made very clear in Heb. 9:27 that we’re going to be held accountable. (…and it’s appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment.)
Being held responsible for our actions was never meant to be only under consideration towards the end of one’s days, though. It’s supposed to be an ongoing process with everything we do. As believers, we know we’re answering to a higher authority, and we have an obligation to make a difference while we’re here.
What’s apparent is that our entire government has abandoned the concept of accountability. This from-the-top-down-the- ranks failure has manifested itself in many ways. Here are seven scriptural viewpoints regarding the lack of accountability, the fruit it bears, and why this is important from a Biblical viewpoint.
Laziness
Mt. 25:24-30 is the well known parable of the talents. The lesson here is that doing just enough to get by will be eventually noticed and counted against you. Hey, fed employees…don’t want to return to the office to do your jobs? Good luck.
Prov. 6:9-11, paraphrased basically says how long to you think you can keep this up?
Ungratefulness
Ungratefulness for grace that has been given is nothing new. Luke 17:17, 18 is the story of Jesus healing 10 lepers, but only one showed gratitude.
There’s so many examples of this lack of thankfulness-from all the illegals wanting freebies to the federal workforce — it doesn’t seem to end. The entirety of 2nd Timothy chapter 3 includes even the church as being ungrateful and perverting what is good.
It’s not impossible to turn the attitude around, if you want to. Remember this: “In everything give thanks.” (1st Thess. 5:18)
Pride/Arrogance
In many ways, arrogance begins with an overbearing exaggeration of one’s self, rather than one’s usefulness.
Pride, or the act of being proud of a particular accomplishment, can often turn to conceit. Conceit is the start of the path to arrogance. (This happens a lot in the music world; trust me.)
This is what we’re seeing now from all the Demshevik woke scolds. It’s best to just let them speak (or rant, usually), because that makes them easier to identify and thus avoid. (Check out Prov. 16:18; 26:12, as well as James 4:6 for the proper view of where pride and arrogance leads.)
Wickedness/Sinfulness
Wickedness and sinfulness depend on each other to function. Do you sin because you’re wicked, or is it your very sin nature that is the root of wickedness? As believers, we know how to answer that. (Get a good concordance and run the verse regarding sin, particularly Rom. 1:32; 5:20; 7:7; 14:23. ) When forced to deal with Demsheviks in any way, pay attention to Eph. 4:26.
We all know the fruit of the Left’s policies that have lead to more harm than good due to the lack of accountability. The fact that they’re crying foul regarding the deportation of criminal illegals (…sorry for the redundancy…) says more about their core wickedness than anything else.
Foolishness
To say our government has been run with a degree of foolishness is being kind to the fools themselves. The refusal to embrace wisdom and common sense; the acceptance of stupidity as a norm; and the intolerance for correction is so rampant in government that every aspect of what government touches is now infected with the same negativity.
The main culprit is the Dept. Of Education, along with the institutions of so called “higher learning”. Created in 1974 by then Pres. Carter, this one agency has created an undereducated, Marxist indoctrinated generation. It has more than outlived it’s usefulness. Along with the current state of colleges and universities, our “education” system has become the best example of applied foolishness. (Check out Prov. 13:20; 14:7; 23:9; 26:11)
Dishonesty/Manipulation
What we’re really facing here is lying. Governmental examples are so numerous, someone should write a book about the bigger ones. You know, stuff like “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor”, and “I will not pardon my son….”. There’s just so much material. If a book on this subject does exist, I’m not aware of it. I really hope someone follows up with this idea.
While lying is more of a moral issue, it can have consequences at times. Don’t lie in court or during a police investigation. I personally think the oath of office on all levels should be held to that standard.
God’s attitude towards lying is best summed up in Prov. 12:22; 26:24-26. His attitude to those in the church who lie is found in 2nd Cor. 11:13-14.
Christ’s own words are extremely succinct: “Let your communications be yea, yea; nay, nay; for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.” (Mt. 5:27). In common English: let your yes mean yes, and your no mean no. Nothing else will do.
Unrepentant
To repent means to reform oneself and turn your life around; to stop what you’re doing; basically just stop doing the bad stuff in all its form. To place “…un…” before it means the opposite: no apologies for being the lying, cheating, thieving piece of scum you’ve turned into. You now harbor a total disregard for how your actions affect other people, even people you claim to love.
This is the Demshevik mindset, to completely keep going and even double down with their policies that create only chaos. (And they still wonder how Trump won….)
Practically all of the prophetic books of the O.T. lay out in detail what will happen when you, and in fact when entire nations, fail to course correct. Heb. 10:26 is pretty blunt as well.
The overall absence of any accountability leads to this mindset of unrepentance, which in turn can become so entrenched it’s impossible to change without a major upheaval of some kind.
I’ve said before in these articles that we were given the gift of a four year window into what the Demsheviks want to ultimately do to us and the entire nation. Now, it looks like they’re starting to face some consequences and hopefully some accountability. We need to keep the pressure up. Remember, winning one battle is not the entire war.
In closing….discernment
Discernment might seem like an unusual way, even off-the-mark way, to end this. Consider this definition: discernment is comprehension of the obscure; perception; insightful acumen to see what is not obvious. * (It’s also one of the Gifts Of The Spirit in 1st Cor. 12:10)
The Demsheviks are currently fractured and in complete disarray. Make no mistake, though…they’re not going away. Expect them to eventually regroup, rebrand and maybe find a leader to rally around. They will try to claim some conservative views as their own. This is where discernment and vigilance on our part comes in. We can’t let them near power ever again.
