Trump Announces YUGE Step Forward In Newest Peace Through Strength Initiative

True visionaries see things long before anyone can actually make them happen.

True visionaries see things long before anyone can actually make them happen. Four decades after Reagan dreamed his big dream, Trump is finally turning sod on brining the dream into reality.

Those of us old enough to remember the Star Wars program will remember how crazy the world thought it would be for someone to shoot one missile with another missile. It couldn’t be done, they scoffed. It was just science fiction.

Of course, when they were saying that, those flip-open communicators used by Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise were also ‘science fiction’. A lot has changed since those days… including what we do and do not scoff at.

As it has with Kirk’s communicators paving the way for flip phones and then smart phones, technology caught up to Reagans’ vision.

Patriot missiles shooting down SCUD missiles in the Gulf War gave us an appreciation that maybe there’s something to that cockamamie idea of his. Israel took Reagan’s idea and implemented it to protect against the endles hail of missiles fired from Hamas and Hezbollah aligned militants. We have even watched as waves of cruise missiles were knocked out of the sky.

Trump, with his strong preference for peace and deterrence over conflict, and with the rise of hypersonic threats globally, wanted to take the principle that Israel used to protect itself and adapt it to the American context.

Naturally, any ‘dome’ Trump had a hand in would have much better branding that Israel’s sensibly, (if boring-ly) named ‘Iron Dome’.

Today he made an announcement about progress on his Missile Defense Shield.

Introducing: The Golden Dome.

SecDef Hegseth gives us some more details.
