OOPS: Canada Shoots Its Economy In The Foot While The World Lines Up To Strike Deals

Carney really doesn't know who he's up against, does he?

Its been another busy week for President Donald J. Trump, as one trade deal announcement after another is struck as we approach the looming deadline.

But Canada, instead of looking for ways to strike a deal that (honestly) means a lot more to them than it means to their American counterparts, seems hellbent in their desire to throw sand in the gears of their own economy.

Just last week, we saw the Canadian government drop charges against a Chinese agent with a role in the drug pipeline that was behind the tariffs Trump slapped on Canada in the first place.

EXCLUSIVE: Charges Dropped Against Chinese Scientist in Vancouver Tied to Xi’s “Talents” Program and Canada’s Synthetic Drug Pipeline
The Bureau uncovers how a CCP-linked academic hired under China’s “Talents” plan evaded prosecution after allegedly being caught with precursors shipped from PRC (link)

That was about the same time that Canadian authorities started turning the screws on an American Christian musician, doing nothing when leftwing agitators threw a smoke bomb at Sean, as venues have been pressured to cancel because Christian events have no place in an ‘inclusive’ Canada. (The irony is lost on them.)

Trump has made his opinions on religious freedom clear, and has already slapped punative tariffs on Brazil over issues of censorship and control.

Meanwhile, as Trump tries to navigate to an end of the conflict in Gaza, he has been dealing at home with protesters using the conflict as an excuse to whip up racial grievances. Brown is the latest college to settle differences with Trump’s DOJ, like Columbia did previously, to ensure that protesting is not used as a pretext for harming or intimidating Jewish students.

With the tariff deal still pending, what does Canada do? They declared their support for the State of Palestine.

Of course, it has not got any of the basic requirements of a functional state, despite Israel agreeing to remove every Jew from Gaza several years ago, and its primary infrastructure project has been a rabbit’s warren of terror tunnels. But that didn’t stop Canada from becoming the latest country to declare support for a Palestinian state.

No word on whether they indicated support for Narnia, Neverland, Wakanda, Westeros, or Loompaland as well.

Trump took to Truth Social after hearing about Canada’s support for a Palestinian state. He minced no words:

Wow! Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine. That will make it very hard for us to make a Trade Deal with them. Oh’ Canada!!!

Do you remember that Simpsons GIF where Sideshow Bob walks across a parking lot filled with rakes, and one after another, they smack him in the face?

Canada is like Sideshow Bob, here.

Remember when it seemed like Trump was cheering for a liberal to win Canada’s election a few months ago? Was it because he sized Carney up and figured he could roll over him more easily than he could roll over the Conservative?

Canada’s economy is already circling the toilet. If they play the FAFO game and get walloped with tariffs, there’s no telling WHAT will happen to them.

Meanwhile, Americans have got Europe pledging to open up their markets while agreeing to invest some $600 billion in American industry, and that’s not counting their committments to buy US energy and military hardware. South Korea is investing $350B into the US economy. And Japan is investing $550B….

That number keeps going higher when you include the Saudis, Qatar, and UAE.

And Canada thinks its best play is to go ‘elbows up’ in their dealings with Trump?

Carney wouldn’t be the first to play FAFO in his dealings with Trump. And that game never seems to work out for the folks who think they can sharpen the ax to come at Trump.
