The High Price of “The Anointing”
So, you think you want to be 'used by God', do you?

Most Christians like to thing they might want to be ‘used mightily by God’… until they get the sticker-shock of looking at the price that comes with it.
Eleven of the twelve disciples died a violent death. The other was ‘merely’ exiled after surviving an execution attempt. If you’re looking for life on easy street, you should look somewhere else. Being empowered by God to shoulder his work in a generation is NOT for the weak of heart.
That being said? Hardship doesn’t mean the price isn’t worth paying. It just filters out the poseurs who have no business stepping up in the first place.

While you’re at it, here’s Doug’s book on what that kind of life looks like, what price it would ask of the modern reader, and why that price is absolutely worth it:
John The Baptist: A Rude Awakening Precedes A Great Awakening.
This timely little tome chronicles the politically incorrect ministry of one of God’s most effective wildmen, John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Christ’s ministry.
The abrasive message of repentance John preached 2000 years ago is still confrontational and offensive today — but it is also life-changing.
In our putrid, worldly culture that has turned away from God, this book is a must-read for every Christian.
Available in paperback for those of you who like the feel of the pages in your hot, little hands, on Kindle to keep it right at your fingertips, and as an epic Audiobook.
