Postmaster General David Steiner testified before Congress a few days ago and informed them that the Postal Service would be out of cash within a year. He proposed the following solutions: borrowing more money, raising the price of stamps, changes to pension funding and liabilities calculations, retirement fund investment strategies, ending mail delivery on Saturdays, closing post offices.
As I mentioned before in previous articles, the best solution would be to privatize the Postal Service. It wouldn’t be a burden on taxpayers, and its financial problems would be solved.
[…]The second season of Duck Dynasty: the Revival began airing a couple of weeks ago. But for some reason, A&E chose to air it at 10 PM EST/9 PM CST on Saturdays.
That is not the best time slot to air all-new episodes of a television series. The show will probably have low viewer ratings, especially it’s being shown during March Madness. The folks at A&E should have waited to show the new season in April, and preferably on a primetime spot on a weekday.
[…]Speaking of March Madness, I noticed that during the last few years that some of the second-round games on Sunday evenings won’t take place until late in the evening (i.e. 9:30 PM EST/8:30 CST).
Why is that? Why can’t they air the primetime games a little earlier (e.g. 8 PM EST/7 PM CST)? Did they forget (or even realize) that a significant portion of the fans have to get up early on Monday mornings to go to work? Thus, these games should be scheduled earlier.
[…]In the past few years, several networks (e.g. A & E, TLC, Nat Geo Wild, the History Channel) have increased the number of reality shows and hardly air any documentaries anymore. Why is that? Are they wanting to be all-reality show networks? Why can’t they have more variety? Personally, I’d rather see more documentaries on these networks.
