Ted Cruz Curb-Stomps Those ‘Jim Crow’ Democrat Talking Points …With Facts And Logic

In their desperate opposition to passing laws that will make it hard for political machines to get out their graveyard voter bases, Dems are throwing everything they’ve got at blocking the SAVE America Act.

Dem senators are desperate to hold the line, and even some GOP Senators are wobbly on the vote itself, despite massive support for the principles by both independents and even Democrat voters. (We can guess what their reason$$ might be…)

But the left’s excuses to block the vote are getting knocked down like bowling pins.

One of their go-to (probably focus-group tested) allegations is that laws that prevent cheating are somehow an expression of ‘Jim Crow’ laws like the old poll tax or literacy tests that were explicitly created to serve as an obstacle to American citizens exercising their right to vote.

This is the opposite. Instead of DIS-enfranchising voters, this is an exercise in PROTECTING the impact of citizens’ votes from being diluted by improperly cast votes of non-citizens, non-residents, and dead people. Even one bogus vote is too many, as we sometimes see races decided by just a handful of votes.

As the Save America Act was winding its way through Congress (it successfully advanced to the floor yesterday and will see a vote), Ted Cruz stood up and gave the Jim Crow claims the horse-whipping they so richly deserved.

It’s a short clip, but he jackhammers them on Democrat creation of Jim Crow laws, the Democrat creation of the KKK, the Democrat ‘separate but equal‘ discrimination, poll taxes, and a host of other laws and mechanisms to prevent African Americans from voting.

A sixty-second TV ‘hit’ he reposted on his Senate account covers another portion of the longer speech, above, and reminds us that illegal aliens often own drivers’ licences which could be (and have been) used for voting purposes in some cases. (Thank-you Blue-state ‘motor voter’ laws. We see your game for what it is.)

The SAVE America Act requires proof of citizenship to register to vote and it requires photo ID when you show up to vote.

The overwhelming majority of Americans support those provisions.

But he ALSO hits hard at the Jim Crow BS by citing the stats of how many black and hispanic voters actually SUPPORT obligatory voter id laws. Even DEMOCRAT voters are in favor.

But for some rea$on, the Dems still won’t support it. If only we had $ome kind of a ¢£u€ as to what that motivation might POSSIBLY be.

It’s a mystery, truly.

Ok that and power, naturally. But those who have one tend to want the other and too often more than happy to trade for it.
