Internet Laughs AT WILD Rumor About Why Iran’s New ‘Supreme Leader’ Was Not Father’s Ideal Choice
For a regime that fined and even killed women whose hair was uncovered, this is embarrassing

Of all the leaders of all the countries for this wild rumor to happen in, Iran may be the most hilariously ironic. You’d be hard-pressed to name any country on the planet that takes a harder line on adherence to strict religious norms. Which makes the latest leader such an awkward choice.
To call Iran hard-line on questions of strict religious conformity is an understatement…
Women are routinely arrested for failing (or refusing) to wear their hijab properly. Women who turn it into a protest have been systematically blinded, if not killed outright. Atlantic Council story here
Even doing your job as a nurse, helping the ‘wrong’ people can get you killed, or injured in such horrific ways you are left praying for the release death could bring. Just this week, we saw a story about nurses being gang-raped and tortured by the IRGC’s thugs for the ‘crime’ of giving medical aid in hospitals to the protesters who has been shot in January’s riots.
Members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), who have close ties to the country’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, slaughtered thousands of protesters before killing and sexually abusing medics who helped the injured at Tehran’s Rajaei Cardiovascular, Medical and Research Center, it is reported.
One nurse, 33, was held in detention and said she had been repeatedly gang-raped by three IRGC agents at a time for three days, according to Iran International.
The sexual assaults were so severe doctors had to remove part of her intestine and her uterus may have to be taken out. She also has to live with a colostomy bag.
The woman is so traumatised she begged surgeons to let her die and she is currently tied to the hospital bed to stop her from harming herself as she remains under the supervision of IRGC security forces. —DailyMail
If that’s how they treat women, the death penalty on homosexuality should come as no surprise. Some are publicly hung in stadiums by cranes, others are unceremoniously hurled from rooftops to the ground below.
Then along came the news about the newest in the string of Iranian Supreme Leaders. It was amusing enough when news broke he had seen doctors in London to address his impotence problem. Then along came news that the new head of state of Iran’s totalitarian theocracy has a thing for men.
Trump couldn’t contain his surprise and laughed aloud when he was briefed on the intel, according to sources.
Others in the room also found it “hilarious” and joined the president’s reaction, while one senior intelligence official “has not stopped laughing about it for days,” said one person familiar with the briefing.

All three sources say the implausible-sounding allegation is viewed as credible by US spy agencies, rather than false information intended to undermine Khamenei, 56, who was selected to replace his dead father as supreme leader on March 8.
Two of the sources said the intelligence indicated that Mojtaba, who earned the nickname “the power behind the robes” while serving as his aging dad’s gatekeeper, has had a long-term sexual relationship with his childhood tutor. —NYPost
The memes were as relentless as they were hilarious.
Even just limiting selections to replies to the NYPost headline that started it all, the reactions to rumors of the newest Supreme Leader (if he’s even still alive, which is still an unproven claim at this point) liking men more than he likes women was too much irony. The waves of incoming mockery were inevitable.
We’ll start with replies to the original story, and finish with a couple of video memes, too.
Memes from the original thread:
There were a LOT of variations on the ‘throw cardboard Khomeini from the roof’ genre…

Here are some of the more creative (and, frankly, less crassly obscene) of another genre….

Some old familiar memes were repurposed, as you would expect…

Some were straight up original content…

Sorry Tucker — once the regime starts running your shows on their propaganda networks, you have mockery like this one coming to ya.
And sometimes, a simple quote tweet was just as devastating as a mocking meme…

Here’s a video from the thread…
To be fair, there’s no Ahmadinejad anymore, either. He’s joined his buddies in Dante’s Easy Bake.
Oh yes, he has a song now.https://t.co/qXvReHN36Y pic.twitter.com/bB0soHJiTG
