We call it the Acts of the Apostles, but if we’re really being honest, it’s really the story of Acts of the Holy Spirit.
The gospels already showed us what kind of a goat rodeo Jesus had been surrounded with for the 3 years of his ministry, where you wonder how God can build ANYTHING out of the Three Stooges act of how the apostles kept finding new and creative ways to miss the point of everything Jesus was trying to teach them, until — right at the end, the resurrected Christ finds them cowering behind a locked door that he ignores as HE walks right in. (John 20:19)
But when the day of Pentecost had fully come… something happened. Something changed and turned these timid mice into roaring lions.
Today we look at that transformation, and what it means for the rest of us.
If a person looked to Scripture and paid particular attention to the passages within the Bible that address the topic of hunting, then they’d walk away thinking not only is hunting animals tolerated but it is endorsed by God. And that’s exactly what this little book is about: proving that God, from Genesis to Revelation, is extremely cool with hunters and hunting. I’ll go out on a biblical limb and claim right off the bat that you cannot show me, through the balance of the Bible, that the God of the Scripture is against the responsible killing and the grilling of the animals He created. ~Doug Giles
