WATCH: Dem Tries To Slander Kash Patel As A Drunk In Hearings… The Attempt Backfires BIGLY

This is why Trump picked a Cabinet who would NOT be bullied in hearings

For anyone who thought the left’s rage against Trump was bad in his first term, Trump 47 is a whole other animal. They thought they had beaten him. They thought the woke agenda had one… and much of it is falling apart before their eyes.

They lost the Presidency, the House and the Senate. That would have made Dems mad enough. But SCOTUS believes in Originalism over Activism, and is quietly unspooling some of the dirty tricks the left used to wield power even while they were out of power. Chevron Deference is toast, which means the Permanent Bureaucracy has lost their defect legislative power to advance leftist and big-government agendas that would never have survived a house vote.

Eric Holder and the left’s top-tier legal teams have watched a decade’s worth of court battles pushing radicalized gerrymandering to increase their power base in otherwise red or purple states get nuked from orbit by SCOTUS. Race-based preference of any kind is illegal.

Merit has returned to the military — and with it, unquestionable evidence of military might and capability that gives pause to America’s enemies.

We could run down the list of losses the left has suffered all day long, and they’re only going to get worse as investigations into ActBlue and foreign interference in leftwing ‘grassroots’ movements quietly move forward.

They have precious few political weapons left that can be used against the GOP. So when they get a chance to use their role in Congressional oversight to bully a member of Trump’s Cabinet, they will work very hard not to let it go to waste.

Especially when the media helpfully provided one of their ‘anonymously sourced’ stories making grand claims about Kash Patel being a lush who doesn’t show up for work. If they cared about actual oversight, it would be easy enough to require the FBI’s records of scheduled meetings, which could easily be checked against whether or not Kash attended them.

That’s what they would do if the goal was ‘oversight’. But if the goal is public humiliation and discrediting both Trump and his administration in an effort to undercut MAGA support in the midterms? That requires a public smackdown and some talking points.

Good luck trying to answer what any of these wild-eyed unsubstantiated allegations have to do with preparing for the appropriations process.

Unfortunately for Senator Chris Van Hollen, Kash was ready for these games, and he came to that hearing perfectly prepared to turn the tables on his attackers.

When Van Hollen came out swinging against Kash Patel, it was echoing allegations that he’s been drinking on the job and unable to fulfil his duties. Director Patel has, more than once, rebuffed these allegations as scurrilous. He’s gone so far as to name those responsible for that story in a defamation suit.

But Van Hollen insists on treating them as if they were gospel truth.

Kash was not only ready for these defamatory allegations, he pushed back with receipts backing up allegations of his own, ‘drinking on the taxpayer dime’? Most folks had no idea who this senator was until he flew down to El Salvatore and sitting for a now-famous photo with a gangbanger and a couple of Margaritas.

But that pales in comparison receipts Kash drops about a $7000 bar tab at ‘the lobby bar’, followed by Kash making a direct allegation that Van Hollen has been day drinking.

Others dropped similar reminders.

Later pushback on the $7000 says this was paid by campaign money, not taxpayer funds, and it references ‘catering’.

It got worse as it went on. He tried humiliate Patel with a trap question about taking an assessment test for alcoholism… He threw it right back in the senator’s face:

VAN HOLLEN: Will you take the test to determine if you have a drinking problem?

PATEL: I’ll take any test YOU’RE willing to take.

VAN HOLLEN: I’ll take it!

PATEL: Let’s go. Let’s go, SIDE BY SIDE!

To close, Van Hollen tried to get a social media soundbite in which Patel makes a true statement for the sole purpose of content for leftwing political ads. Patel knew this for exactly what it was and shut it down, where the best Van Hollen could manage was to put words in Patel’s mouth about why he refused to answer that question.

PATEL: I do not lie to Congress. You’re insinuating I am because you want to correct your time in this session where you got STEAMROLLED by the facts, so you can go raise more money, and spend more money on $7,000 bar tabs. And I’m NOT gonna give it to you!

If they actually cared about the work the FBI was doing, they might have asked why this administration has been so very successful in bringing the murder rate WAY down, not to mention opioid deaths, and the great success they’ve had in disrupting child trafficking operations, and freeing children from the clutches of monsters.

But let’s be really honest.

When’s the last time a Democrat advocated for any of those priorities?

They’re far more interested in letting bad guys out of jail than protecting the neighbors from becoming their next victims.
