Israel just honored President Trump for taking a bold stand. How should they honor Obama?
If you’re watching Chris Matthews, or CNN you might not have heard. But Israel was enormously grateful for Trump taking a bold stand in support of Israel. He DELIVERED on a what previous Presidents had only ‘promised’ to do.
They honored Trump because they understood that America would be the first, and others would follow. (That has already begun.) It’s called leadership.
How did they Honor Trump? They named something after him. Something significant in a prominent location. That ‘Trump Train’ slogan just took on a whole new significance.
But maybe they should be bipartisan about this. Maybe they could memorialize Obama in some way, too. Something appropriate to his relationship with Israel.
Does anyone remember this story? Imagine the outrage if the President was ‘Trump’?
Report: U.S. spying on Israel swept up members of Congress
U.S. spying programs scooped up communications between members of Congress and Israeli leaders, giving the White House insight into Israel’s lobbying of U.S. lawmakers against the Iran nuclear deal, current and former U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal.
The article, published Tuesday afternoon, reports that the U.S. continued to spy on select leaders of allied nations despite President Barack Obama’s pledge to curb such surveillance two years ago, and that it was a top priority to maintain spying on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government.
Did you catch that?
Obama was so committed to the Nuclear deal that he was willing to spy on CONGRESS and their interactions with his government. This is the same President whose administration — also to protect his precious Iran deal — repeatedly turned a blind eye to a billion-dollar-a-year terror/drugs/arms/nuclear components/chemical weapons/money laundering operation that funded Hezbollah.
So he loved Israel’s enemies — the ones who chant Death to America and Death to Israel. The world’s largest State sponsor of terror, and when the Iranian people try to rise against their oppressors — Obama offered them no support.
What ‘regime’ was he actually interested in toppling? Israel’s duly elected Prime Minister.

According to the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI), the State Department gave $349,276 in U.S. taxpayer-funded grants to a political group in Israel to build a campaign operation, which subsequently was used to try to influence Israelis to vote against conservative Benjamin Netanyahu in the March 2015 election for prime minister.
The same blowhard that forever moans about as-yet-unproven Russian tampering in our election spent OUR tax dollars to oust Netanyahu? Because the will of Obama’s government was more important than the will of ordinary Jewish Citizens?
Maybe Israel SHOULD find some way to remember him. You know, in the ‘never again’ sense.
Trump has that prestigious stop named after him now. But the light rail in Jerusalem — there’s just the one so far — is called the Red Line.
Since Obama famously called for a ‘red line’ with Syria and then failed to back it up, that may be one way to remember him.
Or perhaps ‘Akeldama, aka ‘the Potter’s Field’, aka ‘The Field Of Blood’ could be renamed after Obama. When Judas returned those 30 pieces of silver after betraying Jesus, they used it to purchase that plot of land for burying foreigners, criminals and the poor.
The land — associated with the betrayal of Jesus — is associated with treachery. That would be a good fit. Or, maybe we’re over-thinking it.
Jerusalem is grappling with where to put their next landfill. When they open the next one, they could name it after Obama.
Or, they could keep it really simple, and rename the bathrooms in the Knesset after Obama, and every time they flush, Israel could honor him proportionally to his treatment of Israel.
They could even make the bathrooms ‘transgender-friendly’, if they so wished.
