The Democrats are hostile to God. It’s no secret.
And why wouldn’t they be? God and his people stand opposed to the ‘Brave New World’ they’re trying to engineer.
It’s why they go Zero-For-Ten with respect to the Ten Commandments.
It would stand to reason that the next step in purging all vestiges of Christian heritage would be to remove mention of his name from the swearing of oaths.
The Democrats have continued their mission to root God out of the public square in the name of secularism by removing “so help me God” from the U.S. House of Representatives oath witnesses must take when testifying before several of the congressional committees, all of which are currently under Democratic control.
…Chairman Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) claimed the removal of God from the oaths was a simple “mistake.” Despite that, the Democrats eventually went on to push God out of the oaths, which One America News pointed out in March when Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TX), chair of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, specifically omitted “so help me God” when swearing witnesses in at a hearing. When Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) tried to correct the oath, Cohen publicly rebuked him.

The rationale Steve Cohen gives for removing the phrase is entirely predictable: “I think God belongs in religious institutions: in temple, in church, in cathedral, in mosque — but not in Congress,” said Cohen. “And God doesn’t want to be used.” — DailyWire
Right. Except that, it misses the entire POINT of an oath. It is sworn to an Omnipotent Judge who has power and authority over his creation both in this life and the next.
If you lie under oath, and you TRULY believe it was sworn before God in Heaven, you are subject to something far more serious than any mere slap on the wrists by some Deep-State flunkies who may or may not bother to prosecute your wrongdoing even if it becomes known.
On the other hand, and you swear an oath not truly believing anyone with omnipotence or omniscience is listening, the oath itself becomes meaningless, no matter who or what it is sworn upon.
The ‘God doesn’t want to be used’ line is a convenient way of saying that the REAL religion of the state is Irreligion. Any expression of faith will be suppressed and excluded in the legal process. Any fair reading of history will tell us that this is explicitly NOT the plan of our Framers.
Limitations were put on a FEDERAL government decreeing a universal religious belief. But the States themselves — in the time of the signers — were free to do as they wished. Originally, some did have some official CHRISTIAN denominations to which they were affiliated.
But don’t take our word for it — look up the history of the word ‘antidisestablishmentarianism’ some time.
