Lame Pastors & Revival Don’t Mix
Supposing revival hit your city... would Christians there even know what to do with it?
So often, we see Christians crying out for revival in their city, when what their secret hope is someone else would do the work of the gospel so that their city looks less pagan.
Today’s show began when Doug said his inbox was slammed by people talking about a post by Nick Freitas, the Green Beret Congressman from Virginia who doesn’t mince words on his opinions, including when it comes to his Christian views.
Fritas asks the very relevant question — supposing the massive uptick of interest in church following the murder of Charlie Kirk lands some of these young men in your local church… what will the men who have stayed away from church for so long find when they show up there?
Will it be a robust gospel that challenges boys to grow up and become the men God made them to be? Or will it be some lavender-scented shade-the-hard-edges-off-the-gospel, never-change-God-likes-you-just-the-way-you-are glorfied Ted Talk and self-empowerment seminar baptized in Christian jargon?
News flash to the pretender pulpiteers out there — if that’s what they find in your ecclesia, they aren’t coming back again next week.
