Newsflash to Animal Liberation Front: Animals Aren’t People
Before disgust completely took over, I saw the “Payback” section of the site. Article titles include, “Indonesian loggers trapped up tree by Sumatran Tigers after cub killed” and “Namibia: Kudu kills man in self-defence.” Celebrating the death of human beings? Stay classy, ALF.
Setting fires, vandalism, breaking into laboratories, making federal agents targets for God knows what. These are the tactics of the desperate. These are the acts of people that have no ability to reasonably debate. These are the actions of people that vilify the choices of others. I’m perfectly content if you want to go through life never eating steak or wearing leather shoes. Do it for the right reasons; health, love of animals, whatever your excuse. But know this, ANIMALS ARE NOT HUMANS!
Five deer heads look down on me as I write this, all a celebration not of death but of life. They have given sustenance to my children. They have helped to cull the herd in the way God intended. Not through the starvation of an animal but through the life-sustaining nutrition its meat supplies to us humans.
God directed us to have dominion over all living creatures. They are not our equal. They never were and never will be. And no matter how many laws you chose to break, you will NEVER trump the will of God.
Now pass the bacon, please. All of this animal talk makes me hungry!
