Bullies, Cowards and Benghazi, Oh My!

Now, caught in the middle are four dead Americans, their families and a nation growing increasingly angry over what is now obviously a huge cover-up. There are all kinds of theories as to why Obama wants to tamp down on this mess. First it makes him look incompetent. He has no trouble looking that way without help, yet this fiasco in Libya is the ultimate example of his incompetence and dereliction of duty. The 3am phone call was roundly ignored. He was dreaming about the elusive hole in one he will never get.

This also could mean the Administration was running guns to the Syrian “rebels”. Like the Libyan “rebels”, no one is quite sure who these “rebels” are but we do know that they are affiliated with the same people who flew air planes into buildings in New York and Washington, DC on September 11, 2001 and therefore probably should not be getting help from the US. But that’s logical and logic is something that is very hard to come by in Washington, DC right now.

It also could mean something far more sinister, like a kidnapping where Obama suddenly has to show up like a leader and send SEALs and Delta Force to save the day. I am unwilling to go that far because that’s the realm of cool authors like Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Ben Coes and Dan Silva. You know: fiction. The truth is most likely very mundane, and even banal. Which should send everyone’s tempers flaring even more.

The reasons this crazy event took place are probably a combination of incompetence and all of its ramifications mixed with some bizarre and naïve idea that somehow these rebels deserved to be helped because they were fighting for “freedom”. The subsequent cover up, the intimidation and bullying of witnesses and whistle blowers and the cowardice of the political opposition when they could have confronted the President is the real story. And the one thing we can hope for now is at last Congressional Republicans led by Darrell Issa, Jason Chaffetz, Trey Gowdy and others are willing to take on the administration’s intimidators and bullies and the leftist minions in the media and are willing to throw the punch that sets the bullies back on their heels.

We learned that lesson in the school yards of our youths. Apparently some need to relearn those lessons. But, there is one thing that is clear: we won’t be bullied anymore.
