Mama Bears: Our Children Belong to…

He went on to tell the parents that their only option is one of two things: 1) send them to a private school; or 2) homeschool. An onerous financial burden that most can’t afford … and he knows it. Our parental rights to raise our children as under our constitutionally protected religious beliefs were just trashed by a Federal judge. It’s disgusting.

Last week, parents in a New York State middle school were shocked by a program being forced on their children. This program instructed young female students to ask one another for a lesbian kiss in front of the whole class, or pretend they were lesbians on a date. In a separate class boys were instructed on how to spot “sluts”; they were told to determine whether girls are promiscuous by how they dress or how many boys they date.

The school calls it an anti-bullying presentation on gender identity and sexual orientation, but anyone who knows anything about 11-13 year old middle school kids knows it will seriously backfire, giving popular kids more ammunition to use against the less popular kids. Parents were not warned about the lesson in the health class.

Other parts of this lovely program taught the kids terms like “pansexual” and “genderqueer”. Girls were also told that it was common and perfectly ok for 14-year-old girls to have sex. They were told their parents couldn’t stop them. The school system defended the program saying that the lesson was meant to “teach girls boundaries and how to say no.”

Red Hook Central School District Superintendent Paul Finch said the class focused on “improving culture, relationships, communication and self-perceptions.” He also said it was mandatory that the kids be taught those issues under the NY Dignity for All Students Act.

Our children are given enough messages from society in general that it’s no wonder they are confused. Having authority figures (teachers) tell very young children these messages, and then again to children who are just starting into puberty is wrong. Parents are and should be the arbiters of what their children should learn on moral matters, and at what age. Just because there may be a few parents who abdicate their responsibilities to guide their children, doesn’t mean the rest of us are willing to give up ours to the “god” of political correctness.

My children are a gift from God, keep your hands and immoral ideas off of them!
