Mathew Littman, former speech-writer for Lunchbox Joe Biden, made a curious defense of Hillary Clinton. Appearing on The O’Reilly Factor he stated that the Clinton e-mail scandal was only a scandal if one had “preconceived” ideas about Hillary.
“Preconceived” ideas are the source of the scandal and not the server farm tucked away in Hillary’s closet?
Littman’s wording parallels that of other leftists willing to give Hillary a pass. In their view, they offer that others in public office have used private email and that Hillary is deserving of maximum benefit of the doubt.
It’s not hard to find a leftist that will wag a finger and list of a bunch of GOP governors who have used private email addresses. Thing is, governors aren’t subject to the same federal standards Hillary was during her time at State.
It’s even easier to find a leftist who will lecture a laundry list of Executive Branch names who used personal email. Thing is, many of these pre-date the federal standards Hillary was subject to at State. And oh by the way, no one but Hillary owned and operated her own private email service.
Most disturbing — but at the point not surprising — is the left’s willingness to presume that Hillary is incapable of wrong-doing. Indeed, some on the left have nearly bequeathed upon her that critical title “victim” of all this. Nearly all on the left coming to Hillary’s defense do so eagerly; they crave authority and see Hillary as their best shot at more of it via Obama’s third term.
Once upon a time the left led with charges to “question authority”. Now, so many of them are content to submit to it readily. Their starting point is the pretense of unsoiled, shining and clean, Hillary. She is not to be questioned. She is pure as the driven snow. Any preconceived ideas about her need not be introduced into the Presidential vetting process. She has an election to win and an agenda to perpetuate.
