‘HOPE POSTER ARTIST’: Basically Says… We’re Screwed

That Hope isn’t so yummy anymore, eh?

In an Esquire interview artist Shepard Fairey was asked if he thought Obama has “lived up” to the “Hope” poster? Fairey’s answer was an emphatic: “Not even close.”

Fairey felt that Obama has “compromised” too much and not followed through on the things he’s promised. He also shared the blame with a system that was equally to blame saying:

“I’m not giving him a pass for not being more courageous,” Fairey said, “but I do think the entire system needs an overhaul and taking money out of politics would be a really good first step.”

Fairey ended the interview by calling Americans stupid for not even making the effort to vote saying: “We also need a public that isn’t so uneducated and complacent.”
