OH, THE IRONY: Americans to Pay Fines to Enter Mexico
Well isn’t this rich! If you want to get into Mexico, foreigners (meaning Americans), have to pay a fine, while Mexicans can come and go as they please across our borders. Foreigners will be asked to show a passport and if they are staying for more than a week, they must fill out a form and pay a fine equal to about $20.
So let’s get this scenario straight. Mexico sends its criminals over to our country illegally to kill, steal, and suck off of hard-working Citizens of the U.S., and now they want us to give them our hard-earned dollars to enter their rat-infested hell hole?
The setup will be one line for Mexicans and one line for “foreigners”. Roughly 1,000 can be processed in a day.
Mexico’s top official on immigration, Rodulfo Figueroa, said, “This is about putting our house in order.” The country claims that the change will help to close routes for American prisoners who escape into Mexico. Some of the prisoners ordered to leave by the Mexican government were on the FBI most wanted list, and more than 120 that were ejected had warrants and were out for arrests.
The checkpoint will be set up at the San Ysidro where visitors frequently cross from San Diego. Joel Rios, a resident of San Diego, thinks the set-up is impressive saying, “It’s what you see in airports and in other countries, but you’re just not used to it in Mexico”. This initial checkpoint will serve as a model for future ones.
Tijuana’s economy relies heavily on American money and tourism from people visiting restaurants, shops, and doctors. Questioning foreigners has become difficult as the task has been met with resistance with lines to get in that exceed 4 hours.
Opinions were mixed among Tijuana’s residents as some feel restrictions will only hurt its economy. Roberto Arteaga said, “We should be welcoming. This will hurt Tijuana’s economy.” Cynthia Diaz, who lives near San Diego, feels the change is a welcomed one saying, “Anything to keep the country safer is much better for everyone.”
The change comes on the heels of presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s boisterous opinions regarding the border and illegals (which catapulted him to pole position). Trump vows to build a great big wall that he suggested during a “town hall” meeting that could be called the “Trump Wall“.
One thing is for sure, American citizens are tired of politicians making empty promises and toting useless talking points to get elected. The majority of them want illegal immigration to stop and for illegals to be rounded up and sent back to where they came from. Amnesty is not an option, not even for the “Dreamers”, and if a candidate totes that line in any way or has flip-flopped on the issue, they can pack it in now.
U.S. citizens are standing on the front lines between defending freedom and battling for their beloved country that is slowly fading with every misstep made by the Obama regime. In the end, Americans still come from the blood of patriots who were ready and willing to take their place among their forefathers for the greatest country on earth.
