America is different from other nations in that it does not have a history of royalty and nobility. She is a nation of citizens where all are equal, and no man is better than another.
But when those who walk the halls of power are in a bubble of wealth and influence, they begin to take on the qualities of an aristocracy, and have little time for those of ‘lesser rank’. This is where the idea of ‘flyover country’ comes from.
Standard relationship advice comes into play here. If you are in a relationship with someone who doesn’t respect you, is it better to stick around or break up?
