Hey Illegals — good luck hiding behind sheriff whats-her-face once THIS law is passed.
Finally. Movement in the right direction!
The law allows local police to ask about a person’s immigration status.
‘Let’s be clear about something. We all support legal immigration. It helped to build America in Texas,’ Governor Greg Abbott said Sunday.
‘But legal immigration is different from harboring people who have committed dangerous crimes.’
Abbott signed the anti-‘sanctuary cities’ bill into law four days after the final version with amendments was passed by both the Texas Senate and Texas House of Representatives.
…Senate Bill 4 makes it illegal for universities, counties and cities to prevent their law enforcement officers from questioning individuals who are legally detained about their immigration status. It also bans those jurisdictions from preventing the same from enforcing immigration law.
If illegal aliens are looking for ‘sanctuary cities’ to harbor them, they’re going to have to look somewhere besides Texas.
